Second time staying here. Wanted our last year's room, which was peaceful and quiet, but calling six months in advance couldn't make that happen. When we arrived to town early (11:00 a.m.), the staff graciously checked our luggage in and took our phone numbers to call us when our room would be ready. Unfortunately, that never happened, we went back to the hotel after 4:30 and it still wasn't ready. We did receive tickets for free cocktails for that issue- though it was an inconvenience as we wanted to get to the French Quarter Festival, and we were walking.

The lovely room overlooked the courtyard, but unfortunately it was almost above the Patrick's Bar Vin bar courtyard also, which was the apparent place to allow cigar smoke and noisy patrons (although this is a smoke-free campus, $250.00 "fee" if smoking in rooms).

The festival priced rooms (almost $400/n) included doorway cracks and windows that allowed all the sunshine and noise in that you could NOT want, first thing in the morning, after staying out late the night before. Housekeeping staff were above exceptional in attempting to alleviate this issue.

The bed and the linens were scrumptious and top notch. We appreciate clean lines and white high thread counts! Nice shower, though I do not care for dark marble (?) where dirt can hide... The sink area could have used a shelf system to hold our toiletries..., I set up the ironing board for this, as there was plenty of room. There was some strange out-of-place, out-dated shelf in the bathroom, perhaps for this purpose- but I didn't want to leave items in the steamy shower area.

The breakfasts in the morning were to die for. Not sure how they made the fluffy eggs and bacon taste so fresh for every single portion, though served as buffet. Fresh fruit, cream, delicious grits (homemade), teas, coffee, cereals, yogurts, bagels, pastries... Something for everyone. Missed the wait-staff gentleman who was there last year, who was attentive and guessed our every need. Nothing is finer than to sit and drink the morning coffee and to listen to the beautiful fountain in the middle of that courtyard. Now it's time to get back on that diet...

The valet guys were awesome, and retrieved our vehicle very timely. For that matter, all the staff were attentive, courteous and helpful.

The stay would have been a "5" if the price of the room (Festival time- which it is almost all the time in our favorite city) had been different. Even Hampton Inns can make a room quiet and dark. Those are basic requirements in a hotel, especially for a city that makes its living on the night-life! Wouldn't take much to remedy this as far as I could determine.

Room Tip: *See if they have any back rooms, off the main courtyard. Always bring good walking shoes, sunscr...

When my friend stated that she would never stay anywhere other than the Mazarin in New Orleans, I said that I wanted to take it with me on all my other trips. This was our second time to stay here and it did not disappoint. The desk staff is friendly and helpful, the courtyard is absolutely lovely, and the entire hotel is immaculately clean. Our room was so beautiful and well appointed that I could have just stayed in and been happy. Everything about this room was perfect - from the furnishings to the cleanliness to the size of the room - not a single crack in the walls and nothing needed repair, so unusual for an older, remodeled building. The locaion couldn't have been better - close to Canal, close to Bourbon Street without the noise, and walkable to just about anything in the Quarter. You really cannot go wrong staying at the Hotel Mazarin.

Room Tip: I don't know about all the room for comparison, but ours was a corner room and was very large an...

Excellent!! Lobby looks a bit threadworn but don't let it fool you.
The rooms were very clean, well maintained and the housekeeping was excellent. I especially liked the black marble floors instead of the typical carpeting in most hotels.
Very convenient to everything in the French Quarter. Staff was very helpful and attentive.
Comfy beds, clean, comfy linens, bottled water, coffee maker, complimentary breakfast, lovely courtyard and good Wi-Fi connection. Couldn't ask for more..except maybe room service...
My wife, a former flight attendant has stayed in first class hotels all over the world, and this is one of her favorites. We won't stay anywhere else in NOLO.

Room Tip: although we were on the street side on the 5th floor, very quiet.

Chic entrance reminds us of a Parisian private hotel, the breakfast in the sunny courtyard, the clean spacious marble floors room, excellent wifi connection, bottled water, coffee maker, ... Everything to make our stay nice and comfortable!

Will recommend and comeback any time in NOLA!

We stayed for four nights during spring break with our teenage kids, and we had a wonderful stay! The location was so convenient to everything New Orleans has to offer. Even though the hotel is literally right around the corner from Bourbon Street, it is calm and quiet at night. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was very nice. We LOVED the excellent breakfast each morning! The made-to-order pancakes and omelets were awesome!

We stayed here for 3 days prior to a cruise out of New Orleans. The hotel was build in the l800's but has been refurbished without losing the quaint architecture. Our room was small but for 3 nights was perfect. We really did not spend much time in it anyway. It had my main criteria, a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The king bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the bathroom was immaculate. We were literally 2 minutes away from Bourbon Street and we had an inside room so were not bothered by street noise. It met our needs perfectly. The staff were friendly and helpful and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be in the heart of the French Quarter. The buffet breakfast which is included in the price of the room was excellent and sitting in the inner courtyard in the morning to eat it was a perfect way to start our day.

Room Tip: Inside rooms are quieter. Our faced an inner courtyard on the second floor and was perfect for us.

If your trip's priority is to be in the heart of the French Quarter, then this is the place. My wife and I drove from Ohio. Check in was smooth. Everyone was very pleasant. This hotel is a perfect oasis half a block from Bourbon Street. Wanna get away from the craziness for a while? Just go back to the courtyard and relax. Even though the car was right across the street, we never needed it. Breakfast was exceptional. I personally like the fact that you had to have your key card to use the elevator and night security was excellent. Bottom line: next time we come to NOLA, we'll be staying here again.

Room Tip: Try to get 4th floor rooms. They cover the courtyard when raining so on 5 you just see the tarp.
