My wife and I along with another couple stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Mazarin in Feb 2013. This was my 13th visit to NOLA and was without a doubt the best hotel location/stay I have had to date.
The lobby is simple but elegant and the check-in was easy like it should be. The hotel staff were all very friendly and answered questions with a smile.
My only concern about the hotel was the fact that the rooms open into the courtyard and not an enclosed hallway. Once we got checked in this was no longer a concern. Our room on the third floor was quiet and we felt completely safe.
The complimentary breakfast was a nice addition. NOLA is obviously a great food town but it was nice to head down and grab a little bite prior to hitting the streets. They had a full blown breakfast with eggs/bacon/sausage/grits and also pastries and breakfast drinks. And great coffee.
In terms of location you could not do better. A few streets off Canal between Bourbon and Royal. Close to everything but tucked away enough you felt secluded when inside the building.
The room was large and looked just like the pictures. Bathroom was big enough to move around and had a great shower.
I will absolutely be staying at Hotel Mazarin on my next visit to NOLA. No need to look anywhere else.More
