Just returned from a wonderful long weekend celebrating our 30th anniversary with my husband at this wonderful place! My husband wanted to surprise me by staying in the French Quarter in a smaller hotel and he definitely picked a winner!!
We were warmly greeted by Chris at the front desk and Manuel showed us to our room, which was well appointed, very clean and the bed was extrememly comfortable. Our room was away from the bustle of Bourbon Street, so noise was never an issue the entire time we were there. My understanding is that this property was formerly the Hotel St. Louis and had undergone major renovations. The French Quarter is quite old and very reminiscent of being in Europe. They do not necessarily tear down the old - but renovate. The location is about a quarter block from the famed Bourbon street and everything you might have heard about it is true - it is alive and full of people from early evening until the wee hours of the morning - we never made it later than 11pm, but one of our tour guides said that everything on Bourbon closes down at 5am, they clean the streets and then everything opens again at 6am!!!
The best treat of all was the complimentary breakfast which is served each morning by Ada Sahujovic and her attentive staff. It is a meal that you won't believe and it will fortify you for a full day of walking and sight-seeing!! With all of the restaurants in this city, famous and not so famous - there is no need for the hotel to serve anything other than their fine breakfast! I hope they keep doing so!
We never had need of a cab, which are plentiful, except to go to dinner at Emeril's, as everything is within walking distance from this hotel. There are street cars and busses, horse drawn carriages and bicycle drawn carts that can take you pretty much anywhere. There is SO MUCH to see and do in the immediate area, one weekend is definitely not enough! So much art, music, architechture and history everywhere!!
All I can say is that every staff member we came in contact with at the hotel was courteous, friendly, helpful and went out of their way to help make our stay the best possible. We will definitely stay here on any future visits to New Orleans!

Room Tip: If you prefer a quieter room, ask for a petit king away from the street. This hotel does not have a pool - the sister hotel does, Hotel Dauphine.

This place is awesome. Close enough to Bourbon Street to get in on the action and far enough to get away from the noise when you have had enough. The rooms are luxurious and clean, the ambience of the hotel is nice, and the service is outstanding. Larry at the front desk could not have been more professional, accomodating and helpful and Soloman, the doorman, was equally professional and could handle anything you needed from doors to directions to luggage. I will stay there in the future when I go back to New Orleans.

I go to New Orleans at least twice a year and have been doing so for the last 20 years. I always stay in the French Quarter and know what to expect when visiting.
This was our first experience at the Hotel Mazarin and my wife ( not a fan of the French Quarter) was delighted at the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the rooms, quality of complimentary breakfast buffet, and location near restaurants, bars and attractions.
The Managment should take pride in the staff and their hotel, well done!

Room Tip: Beds were extremely comfortable, the reason for less that excellent sleep quality rating is due to the outside noise. You are near Bourbon Street so you should know to expect this.

Just completed a three night stay at Hotel Mazarin and can't wait to go back! Starting with our warm welcome, and throughout our stay, every staff member was very friendly and helpful! Even when we passed someone in the hall they went out of their way to greet us. Larry and Solomon were very helpful at check-in and gave great recommendations for restaurants and tours. The included breakfast is by far the best we've ever had. Delicious, hot food every morning. Intimate wine bar with yet another very friendly staff person. Great location - steps from bourbon street but our room was far enough back it was quiet at night. The only negative, and it is very minor, was that it took a long time for the water to get hot in the shower, but once it did the shower was great. Wonderful bed and large room. Loved the courtyard areas of the hotel. We will definitely stay here on any future trips to NOLA!

I've never been to nola before so I took a shot in the dark picking this hotel in the 11th hour before flying out after Hurricane Isaac.   I was so pleased upon our arrival.  It was blazing hot outside as we entered the perfectly chilled lobby.  Our petite King room wasn't ready so the very nice and helpful girl at the front desk, Katelyn,  immediately upgraded us to a premium King.   It faced the street but no noise due to it being just far enough off bourbon st.   Our room was lovely with a marble floor and the most comfy king bed ever!!  It's a great little boutique hotel.  No crazy emenities, but a terrific free breakfast, awesome location, great, helpful and courtious staff, clean, beautiful rooms and awesome air conditioning!!!   The bellman, Rene, was super helpful and came rushing to our aid when we needed help opening our rain swollen balcony doors.  I highly recommend and I will be returning here!
