Meat is fresh and of excellent quality. Expect to spend some money. It is located close to the convention center; you can walk it from the French Quarter or Canal Street. The owner also owns another Spanish restaurant Rio y Mar which is about two blocks away.

“Ask for the Ricky Lane Table”
Reviewed February 14, 2014

Ask for the Ricky Lane table. The one directly outside of the men's toilet. We made reservations for a party of four, three weeks before our arrival. Got dressed up and spent $15. for a taxi to be on time. Got there in a pretty seedy part of town and were taken to our table passing two vacant tables. Arriving at the Ricking Lane table with its attendant view of men exiting the toilet waving their hands and zipping their flies, we requested o be moved. The hostess, Daphne, said that that would not be possible as this was the table to which we were assigned and we were lucky to get it. She also said not to bother the manager as he would tell us the same thing.
Knowing that we could get good food AND good service we decided to leave. Upon exiting the front door we were accosted by the manager, Ricky Lane. This low life berated us for leaving such a posh (?) establishment that had supposedly turned 90 people away that evening. Mentioning the lack of standbys and empty tables infuriated this petty man and we were screamed at that he was NOT in the service business and we obviously did not belong at his hole in the wall. We did not respond to his crude remarks and left. We ate at Dickie Brennan's and spent $400. La Boca does not deserve or appreciate its customers.

We were there in February and it was cold that night. The entire restaurant was freezing!!! I asked the waiter if they could turn the heat up and he said that they normally didn't need heat. We sat there with jackets on while eating a very expensive a la carte dinner in a room that the waiter said was 52 degrees. The food was just ok, I had the Flank steak special. Every item is separate and there was nothing more on the menu expect Beef, so you need to know that going there. The service was good, but it was not worth the price.

“Always Amazing”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

La Boca consistently delivers high quality steaks, great service, and the Provoleta is to die for always. AND do not miss out on the flash fried brussel sprouts - you won't regret it.
Regardless of a family or business dinner...you won't be disappointed.
