“Sourthern Charm”

This has been our 10th stay at the Windsor Court. We love the location and the ambiance of the hotel. The suites are so large, you could make this into a condo! Our room was lovely with a great view of the Mississippi, but it did need some renovation-especially the carpet and the furniture. But the price is extremely reasonable so we can overlook that, at least for now. We were celebrating our 37th anniverary and since my husband mentioned that when we booked, we were presented with a bottle of champagne and a fruit and cheese plate upon arrival in the room. I would go to this hotel when ever I visit Nola!

First let me say this hotel is not cheap. Second, let me say you get what
you pay for. Windsor could stand to be updated in a few areas, like the suite bathrooms and kitchenette area. But the complaints are minor. This is probably one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. And we travel often. The staff were incredibly friendly - and not in the way folks are friendly as part of thier jobs. They actually were friendly in that old southern charm way. That was really refreshing. The ambience, decor, room service, on site restaurant - all wonderful. We will be back as our kids are hooked on this place after one stay. You should be proud Windsor. Well done.

My husband and I stayed at the Windsor Court this past weekend for a quick romantic getaway. We have traveled many places and are regulars of the Four Seasons hotels and resorts. We were so impressed with the Windsor Court especially since we were able to get a rate that was close to half of what we pay at other hotels of this caliber. The most important quality when we rate a hotel is service. The Windsor Court was incredibly accommodating from the moment we arrived. Our room was not ready when we arrived, but we enjoyed drinks in the Polo Club Lounge. When we asked for the check we were told the drinks were complimentary since we were waiting for our room. I was worried about the room based on some reviews that we had read, but our junior suite was very spacious and had the charm of old New Orleans. It felt like we were in New Orleans rather than a contemporary hotel that feels the same in any city that you visit. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and always stopped us in the hallways to say hello or to see if we had any needs. The pool area was a nice diversion for a hot afternoon. After walking through the craziness of Bourbon Street and the Quarter, the Windsor Court felt like a little oasis for us each time we entered the lobby. It is close to everything - the Quarter, the Casino, the street car lines, the Riverfront. If you are looking for the fun and food of New Orleans, yet want to have a place to relax and rejuvnate - the Windsor Court is the place!

Stayed here for two nights, in a suite on the 10th floor. The location of the hotel is great, and the whole hotel has a luxurious feel (fresh roses in the lobby every day etc.)..

However, the hotel does not get a 5 star rating from me. Having stayed in several top-notch hotels in the US, I expected more from a hotel that is supposed to be one of New Orleans finest.

First of all, the suite I stayed in was rather outdated. From the other reviews here, it seems that only the Club floor suites/rooms have been refurbished the recent years. I do not see how a 5 star hotel can operate with this kind of difference (club vs. non-club rooms). The kitchenette must be from the 70s or so, the sofa horribly dated and worn and the hot water system did not work well in the evenings (had to wait ten minutes before the water was warm enough for a shower).

Secondly, I understand that prices on everything on a hotel like this is higher than usual. But charges like 5.50 dollar for a black coffee at breakfast is IMO just too much. Valet was 32 dollar, which is acceptable I guess if its quick and efficient. But at least once during my stay, I had to wait outside for my car for like 15 minutes, even though I had called well in advance from my room.

All in all, there is a lot of positive things to say about this hotel, but it need some improvements to stand out as a real top-end hotel.

Love the Windsor ! From the moment you drive into their courtyard to the time you leave - you feel welcomed, appreciated and like family. Rooms are comfortable, food is great,Polo Lounge is exceptional - service, libations and snacks. Can't beat the location - near everything - and safe entrance and exit.

I found out the hotel was purchased by new owners last year. The rooms are in need of updating and the desk clerk said they were going to start that in January, 2011. That said, it's still my favorite hotel. The service is still impeccable. The afternoon tea is still worth enjoying.
