On my first visit to New Orleans I stayed at the Royal Sonesta. I thought that was an outstanding hotel. Hotel Monteleone was certainly able to match my first experience in every way possible. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to stay there again.

Everyone was helpful and nice from the time I checked my bags in until I picked up my vehicle, where Mr. Hebert Johnson was especially helpful and nice. If you have the chance to stay here the carousel bar is a must, the bartender made great drinks and offered great suggestions and did not mind answering my questions. I also liked the location of the hotel everything we were interested in visiting was in walking distance. The only thing I regret is not checking out the rooftop pool and bar, which I will be sure to do if I get the chance to stay at the hotel again.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room with a view of the river.

Great location, the kids loved the roof top pool after a long day! The hotel was the best location available, especially with children for it was within walking distance to everything we had planned to do----Would definitely recommend on a trip to NOLA.

The staff is very attentive and accommodating! I was always warmly greeted. Mr. Earl in the parking garage treated me like family. He made the big city feel more like home! What the hotel lacks in room size, it makes up in character and service.

This is a nice older hotel with rich history in the French Quarter. We stayed three nights, our room was smaller as expected but had all we wanted and was very clean. The staff was extremely friendly in hotel lobby, carousel bar, and roof top pool. We did not eat at the restaurant but it looked inviting. We were very happy with how close to the night life and entertainment we were. We will consider returning again for our next trip back.

Best location, safe and beautiful. Excellent bar and restaurant as well, good value. The rooftop pool area is a bonus to get away from the hustle of the French Quarter. Any request was immediately addressed by the staff.

First time in NOLA, plan on returning (the restaurants surpassed their reputations) and the Hotel Monteleone is the only place I will ever stay. The staff is charming and gracious, I felt as though was an old friend returning home. (Special kudos to my best new old friend Miss Sarah at the front desk and the her manager David). From the moment you walk into the lobby you get the feel of what NO was like in the 30's and 40's (a very good thing in my book), they actually have a hotel historian. The Carousel Bar is too cool (once around is 14 minutes 43 seconds ask why it's a cute story), and while crowded (a friendly crowd) on the weekends it's because of the marvelous traditional jazz bands. Great location and while only a block from Bourbon St., the vibe on Royal St. is much mellower.
