We stayed for three nights and enjoyed it immensely. Location was perfect, hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. Rooms are a little small, but that is part of the charm. Although small, they are very nice. Best part is the location......close to everything, but still away from a lot of the crowds!

The hotel is well situated in the French Quarter for whatever you need to do. Small issues had to do with some wear and tear on the bed sheets and shower curtain as well as a housekeeping staff that had to be tracked down on three occasions (out of 6 days) to correct missing towels and toilet paper. Room (preferred king) could have been a bit larger but was certainly adequate.

Keep in mind that pool is accessible by only one of three banks of elevaors. However, it was easy to walk from one of the floor to the other to gain access.

When coming in the front door, be aware that there are two sets of three steps to navaigate with your luggage.

Despite the above, we'd definitelt stay there again.

If parking, try Premier Parking (http://www.premiumparking.com/park/) right around the corner at 716 Iberville. They were about half the daily rate of the hotel and have unlimited in and out privileges during your stay.

We stayed at the Monteleone and would never go back. We had a party of 3 and the room was so small that 2 had to sit on beds while the thrid person moved around. We could not pass each other in the room. We were on the 6th floor with a view of a wall with window shutters and beside a service room which had machinery humming all night. The Hotel was hosting 10 weddings last weekend so people were wall to wall and not a pleasant experience at all. While staff were nice it couldn't make up for the room. Would never ever recommend this to anyone. Having said that - the location is excellent - 1 block from Bourbon Street in the middle of the French Quarter.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Hotel Monteleone.

We are truly sorry that you were not satisfied with the quality of your stay and accommodations. The Monteleone is a historic property, and with that comes a unique floor plan with varying room sizes. We have tried our best to preserve the history of the building while still providing guests with a comfortable space to stay while visiting New Orleans. Again, we apologize that you did not find this satisfactory but we do ask you to consider the nature of New Orleans’ old buildings and the measures taken to modernize them while preserving their integrity.

It is our wish to offer our guests comfortable accommodations with particular emphasis on personal attention. Your comments are well taken. In this instance we did not perform as well as we are capable of and for that I sincerely apologize.

Hotel elevators very slow at peak times. Bathrooms very, very small. Didn't like the trombone player at 5:15 Thursday morning, but your bell captain seemed to put a stop to it after 2 or 3 times. Nice spacious lobby.

We stayed at the Hotel Monteleone during Jazz Fest. It was in the perfect French Quarter location. Hotel staff is gracious and welcoming. Rooms are excellent and well appointed. One of the best features is the Carousel Bar where live music is on stage nightly and some of the best bands in New Orleans play. Great fun and an easy way to end an evening.

I've stayed at the Monteleone happily many times and this is no exception. I'm a member of their rewards program and got free wifi, handy for the ipad. Check in staff were so friendly, we asked for a room on the pool side elevators and they got that set up for us and we stowed our luggage then after lunch mom decided she just wanted to get checked in. They changed us to a room still on the right set of elevators but with less view but were able to get us checked in early-impressive considering it's the day after Jazzfest. Genteman in baggage storage was so sweet. Pool area is great with lots of chairs and lovely flowers, friendly bartendars. Housekeeping times varied but each time they took nice care of our room and we'd return from dinner and our rooms were turned down. Bellmen are supernice, ran into our bellman from last August and he's still smiling and sweet as ever. I'll gladly stay here again.

The hotel was beautiful and our room spacious. The front desk staff went out of their way to accommodate us and our dogs. The bell staff and valet parking folks were patient and courteous. The doormen, a delight.
Where things fell down was the housekeeping staff. They completely missed cleaning our room on one day, and on the next missed emptying the garbages and vaccuuming our room. We paid an extra cleaning fee to have our dogs stay, but we didn't get the service.
I am sorry to say, we will be looking for another pet friendly hotel in the area.
