“Nice hotel, Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

Had not stayed her in over 8 years. The hotel is definitely in much better shape than 10 years ago. The room we had was small, but very quite (not facing the street), and the bed was very comfortable. The Carosel Bar is still a great place for a drink and to meet friends.

Went there with several friends, a great place for a first visit to the area.
Easy walk to all places in the Quarter and a nice place to get the feel of the city.
Many fine eateries close at hand.
I would stay there again!

We just stayed at Hotel Monteleone in February 2013. This is the third time that I stayed there. The location is excellent if you are interested in Bourbon Street and the rest of the French Quarter. The Carousel Bar is a must-do, and the breakfast at their restaurant was both affordable and very good. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but then you shouldn't be spending all of your time in the Big Easy in your room. The staff is friendly. Watch the rates, as rooms can be quite expensive. If you pay attention, you can find specials that will run you around $200 or less per night. Rates tend to be more expensive as the weekend nears. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a window.

We just spent 3 nights in New Orleans at Hotel Monteleone. The room was lovely. It was nicely finished and very clean and quiet. The bath was small but very well appointed with marble floors and tub surround and granite counter tops. Even more important, it was spotless! The concierge was extremely helpful and the doorman was very attentive. Everyone we seemed interested in making your stay a pleasant experience.

Made reservations and received a $189 rate which is the reason we stayed. At check out the rate was $268 and the front desk clerk said there was nothing she could do to help us so we were stuck with the wrong rate. We stayed two nights and I split the bill with my friend. I checked my account several days later and both nights were put on my card so I called billing to have it corrected. The lady was not helpful and acted annoyed that I needed help. I could hear her cell phone ringing and she tried to rush me off the phone. She did not resolve my problem and didn't seem to care so my friend just sent me a check for his part.

Great location, but will probably not stay again. Please make sure you carefully check your reservations and rate at check in and verify your bill at check out!

This is a must stay hotel if you're traveling to New Orleans. Hotel is filled with history, personality, and charm (and allegedly a ghost or two haha). You're one block off Bourbon Street so your room might not be silent enough to hear a pin drop, but you shouldn't have any trouble.

Do NOT leave this bar without having a drink at the Carousel Bar!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

I stayed for three nights on business. My room, booked by my host company, was a very small standard room. Although small, the room was very comfortable and well maintained. The tiny bathroom was also small, but very functional with a very good shower and plenty of good towels. The sound proofing could use an upgrade and noises from the street were heard throughout the night on my 4th floor room. Room service was delivered promptly and was of good quality; however, the extra delivery charges and included tip brought a $16 continental breakfast up to a total of over $23 without any additional tip added.

My limited interaction with the staff was excellent with everyone very outgoing and friendly. One tip-the in-room standard internet at $9.95 was terribly slow. In fact, after doing a speed check, the paid service was 9 times slower than my 4G cellular hook up. I assume the $12.95 offered premium service would have been better.

In summary, I would certainly stay here again but would ask for room that might be less noisy. However, it is in the middle of the French Quarter so I understand that some street noise will be present.
