Based on the hotel's advice we stopped in for breakfast. I had the Eggs Stanley and the wife had the Banana foster French toast; both very good! The Coffee was first rate and the service excellent. Way too much rich food, way too early in the morning. It took us several hours to recover. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Good food good service. Had the beaux bridge beni both times. Location was also great. Also enjoyed watching the man in silver acting like a statue right outside. It was entertaining to watch him surprise people and take pictures with people. It all just adds to the vacation experience. And ads to the ambiance of the restaurant also liked their iced coffee and really appreciated them offering and giving us refills to go.

Wonderful food, great location, (Jackson Square) and lots of different things to choose from on the menu. Best milkshake ever for dessert. Don't miss it.

Stanley offers a nice and characteristic twist on breakfast in New Orleans. Brother to upscale Stella, this is an upscale diner experience. The location on Jackson Square is great too. I admit to having the same dish all four times I've been there: the Breaux Bridge Benedict, a variation on eggs benedict using their house-made boudin. Righteous. It will almost erase a hangover and can carry you to dinner, if necessary.

I had a morning layover between the bus and train so I walked to the Quarter. A newsboy suggested Stanley's. I was warmly greeted and immediately seated. My server was not far behind. He was very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu choices. It is New Orleans so expect creole spices or seafood mixed in the dishes. Interestingly the pancakes and French toast come topped with homemade vanilla ice cream. I did not have it though. I had the Stanley classic - scrambled eggs, bacon, and breakfast potatoes. The eggs were good and came with bits of green onion. The bacon was thick slices, nice blend of crispy and soft. The breakfast potatoes were big chunks with a slight kick from the creole seasoning.

The only real disappointment was the size of the large $4.50 glass of OJ which was made worse when I was charged for a refill.

With tip the total for breakfast was almost $30. That is for one person.
