It could be a 5 star hotel with a little management help. The staff failed to notify us that we had a surprise package waiting for us. Took the sender an hour on the phone to locate it in shipping. I asked the desk when they planned to deliver it when I was waiting for it t come up from shipping. He shrugged as if he could care the least. The TV system was designed by an idiot, what is wrong with telling you on a card where the channels are. The atmosphere at the hotel helped to cement the idea in my mind that NOLA is a place I will never return. I did not feel safe walking the streets. Bright spot was dinner at GW Finns!

Room Tip: Go to the ruby slipper (out the back of parking) for breakfast with most of the other hotel guests. Get a room above the 29th floor for better elevator service.

I stayed for 4 nights on a business trip catering for 800 delegates.
Considering the volume of people, the hotel catered incredibly well and my room was exceptionally comfortable, offering a sensational view of the Mississippi. The location is also excellent!!

We enjoyed our stay! Got upgraded to a suite for free. Comfy beds, friendly service. Free bottled water. One constructive criticism comment - night menu food was just not good. Also, $40 parking is crazy expensive. We loved the location.

Although this hotel is clean it is overpriced and understaffed. We waited over an hour to order room service and still got no answer. We tried to buy food from the vending machine, but there were none. We tried to eat at the only place open at the hotel and waited 90 minutes with no service.
When the hotel is at or near capacity they need to staff accordingly. Also, the lights and electricity went out in our bathroom in the morning while we were getting ready and, of course, no one answered at the front desk after multiple calls- so we got ready in the dark.
Honestly, it was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. We'll never stay at a Sheraton again.

Stayed here in May, 2014. From the 32nd floor, you get a great view of the Mississippi River and a bit of the French Quarter. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are clean and there is no shortage of AC in the rooms. The only thing that I didn't care for, no refrigerators in the room. If you have leftovers, no way to keep them. No way to chill a drink before it's poured. Luckily, we were here on business and didn't have to pay for our rooms out of pocket. I looked at the rates and this is NOT a $300+ per night hotel, by any stretch.

Room Tip: The higher the better, water view.
