We loved the Provincial! Our lovely room looked over the French market, and we could see the river over the trees. The staff was excellent! (A big Thank you to Mr. Terry!) The location is perfect! Next to the French market, it is quiet. An easy walk to the French quarter attractions. I gave a 4 star rating, because we had some issues with our room key card, and the elevator broke down on our last day. Both issues were handled rapidly by the fantastic staff. Stop in the Ice Box bar for a great drink, and take a dip in one -or both- of the pools. I will definitely return to the provincial! It is a beautiful, safe and friendly hotel.

Room Tip: I prefer the building in the back with a river view, but the rooms overlooking the pool also looked...

Once again we were delighted with the Provincial! We have stayed there many times over the years, and it is better than ever. Many of the rooms (maybe all) have been redecorated, and the bar/breakfast room is such a nice addition. The staff, of course, is wonderful!

And, best of all, when you stay at the Provincial, you know that you have been in New Orleans!

Room Tip: We have stayed in many different rooms at the Provincial, and all were, clean, and well decorated.

My husband, son and I stayed here for a long weekend in the French Quarter. The location was perfect, on a quiet street away from the downtown chaos, but equidistant from both Frenchman's Street and Bourban Street. We had a room with 2 doubles just off the courtyard which was quiet after 10:00 PM. Walls are thin, so if there is a loud group, you may be bothered by the noise. However, as I said, this was not an issue while we were there.Hotel was clean, and staff was very helpful. Loved sitting in the courtyard and having a pool in the afternoon. Two reasons I did not rate it a 5 are that the wi-fi was very weak in our room, and there was no coffee/tea maker in the room. Breakfast doesn't start until 8AM, and we tend to "caffeine up" as soon as we get up! That said, we would/will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms are pleasant.

We stayed at the Hotel Provincial last month while visiting New Orleans. I am a New Orleans native living in CA who was visiting, so I have much experience with the city. We scored a big, beautiful room with a large balcony overlooking the French Market (the original Morning Call building) where there were small jazz ensembles who played throughout the day. The Tomato Festival, one of the many festivals that happen in the French Quarter, was happening that weekend, and we could leave our room, walk around the corner and be in the thick of it all or just watch from our balcony. There was also free parking, which is worth its weight in gold if you have a car in the French Quarter. I highly recommend this lovely property as a place to stay while visiting New Orleans.

Room Tip: Get a balcony room overlooking Decatur.

I loved the location not to close to Bourbon St., yet not to far if that was the type of fun you are looking for. The rooms were clean and quiet and very nicely decorated. We had one of the newly renovated bathrooms, and it was gorgeous. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoy a drink & great conversation in the bar or one of the quiet, peaceful courtyards.
This hotel is everything you'd hope for in New Orleans. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed.

This is a beautiful property on a quiet part of Chartres St. but still very close to everywhere you want to be. The landscaping, flora, and fountains add to the atmosphere of this old property. The courtyards are tranquil and beautiful. The guest room ( I had a ground floor pool facing room) was very nice and had antique reproductions throughout and one of the walls was exposed red brick adding to the quaintness of the room. Service was very good, no complaints here..good hotel.

Room Tip: All of the rooms seem good, Mississippi river view rooms are desirable as well as balocny rooms
