We have brought 24 to 48 people with us for the last 10 years to New Orleans. When we found Hotel Provincial we could not have been happier. They have taken care of us better than ever expected. The only year we missed it was the week of Katrina. The staff is outstanding and the rooms quaint. The location is perfect in the Quarter and yet away from all the noise. Each room is different.

My husband and I stayed one night at this hotel. We chose it from a brochure we received at visitor's center and are glad we did. We used the coupon attached and received a very big discount and complimentary parking which helped in our desicion. We made a same day reservation and Robert in reservations was super nice. The room was a little musty smelling but that is to be expected in these older buildings. The room and bath were a good size and furnished nicely. Our door opened onto one of courtyards. This hotel is located in a quieter part of the French Quarter but we were still able to walk everywhere. All staff that we encountered were friendly. The courtyards and the pool we visited (there are 2) was very pleasant. We took a 'ghost' tour during our visit and to our surprise our hotel was one of the stops. Our tour guide stated that the hotel does not a advertise or admit any hauntings. We did not experience anything creepy during our visit, but cool just the same. We would stay here again.

We found the Hotel Provincial at the last minute on-line (two days before our stay), as New Orleans was going to be our last stop on our way home from our Texas to North Carolina and back road trip. It was quite a deal, costing a last minute special rate online of $103.55 per premium two double bed room per night with a $23 cost for valet parking. The location is definitely ideal for walking your way around the French Quarter and for the one night we stayed, even though our two rooms (104, 105) were on the first floor surrounding the courtyard pool, they were quiet. The rooms were clean and neat, but showing their age a bit. They were small, but fit two comfortable double beds with about 2 ft of space between them. Room 105 smelled damp and smoky. Both rooms cooled well and quickly overnight but stayed humid (guessing from being so close to the pool). The staff were great, espeically when we had to cut our trip a day short because of an issue back at home.

We (two adults and two teenagers) spent three nights (two at $109/night and one night at $99/night plus parking) here in early June 2011. Check in was easy and organized. There is a real nice patio area with a fountain and several table of rod iron furniture. The pool was nice and clean. Construction was going on, but it was organized and not disruptive. The breakfast in the back of the property was fine too. The hotel is 2.5 blocks from Jackson square church. We parked our car and walked the whole time.

We have stayed in NOLA many times and always travel down in the summer for the creole tomato and zydeco festival in June. This hotel is by far in the best location, and very close to French market. We don't go to Bourbon street very much so this was a plus for us. We stayed in a room over the restaurant Stella which did have Z fabulous comfortable king bed!! The rooms all have French doors. The only drawback to staying over the restaurant is that the drivewY into the hotel runs right below your room so you can hear the bellman, cars, etc. This room had a fabulous air conditioner so as long as it was running you could not hear anyone on the walkway outside your door. But, as soon as it would shut off we could hear every single conversation anyone was having outside. Also, as this was our anniversary trip we were disappointed that NOONE at the hotel acknowledged it whatsoever. In fact, when we checked in at approximately 10:30 a.m. On a Thursday morning, she was not pleasant at all and acted as if we were "putting her out" when my husband asked her a few questions. Had it not been for the amazingly sweet and welcoming bellman we would have been totally offended. Because our room wS not ready he graciously stored our luggage for us. When our room was ready a couple of hours later SHE called my husbands cell phone and said " your rooms ready, ok??" then hung up. We did not feel welcomed by her at all. We assumed she had worked the night shift because she was so cranky. We have stayed at W hotels and they always acknowledged our anniversary with champagne, chocolates etc. Which was so nice!! We may return there next year! On the upside the pool is fabulous and looks new with plenty of room to swim. There was a highschool group of kids staying all around the pool so they were running in and out of doors until late at night which made it difficult to sit out by the pool late at night. Overall, we slept great, the bathrooms need updating, there was very little water pressure (which seems to be a norm in NOLA)
:(
