We have stayed in NOLA many times and always travel down in the summer for the creole tomato and zydeco festival in June. This hotel is by far in the best location, and very close to French market. We don't go to Bourbon street very much so this was a plus for us. We stayed in a room over the restaurant Stella which did have Z fabulous comfortable king bed!! The rooms all have French doors. The only drawback to staying over the restaurant is that the drivewY into the hotel runs right below your room so you can hear the bellman, cars, etc. This room had a fabulous air conditioner so as long as it was running you could not hear anyone on the walkway outside your door. But, as soon as it would shut off we could hear every single conversation anyone was having outside. Also, as this was our anniversary trip we were disappointed that NOONE at the hotel acknowledged it whatsoever. In fact, when we checked in at approximately 10:30 a.m. On a Thursday morning, she was not pleasant at all and acted as if we were "putting her out" when my husband asked her a few questions. Had it not been for the amazingly sweet and welcoming bellman we would have been totally offended. Because our room wS not ready he graciously stored our luggage for us. When our room was ready a couple of hours later SHE called my husbands cell phone and said " your rooms ready, ok??" then hung up. We did not feel welcomed by her at all. We assumed she had worked the night shift because she was so cranky. We have stayed at W hotels and they always acknowledged our anniversary with champagne, chocolates etc. Which was so nice!! We may return there next year! On the upside the pool is fabulous and looks new with plenty of room to swim. There was a highschool group of kids staying all around the pool so they were running in and out of doors until late at night which made it difficult to sit out by the pool late at night. Overall, we slept great, the bathrooms need updating, there was very little water pressure (which seems to be a norm in NOLA)
