“Wonderful Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2011

There's not enough to say about our stay at the Hotel Provincial. This was my 3rd trip in 2 years to New Orleans, and the first stay here after hearing about it on one of the night tours. We staying in Building 5, in a balcony room overlooking Decatur St. The ONLY complaint would be the street noise from the firetrucks driving through the street on our first night.

My bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Staff was more than willing to help with any questions we had. Even the night guards at the parking lot gates were super friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone a stay at this hotel!

Room Tip: Request Building 5

This hotel was picked by our fellowship group for the rotary Convention, and they couldn't have found better. The hotel is situated in a quiet area of the french quarter, and is a short walk to the Jackson Square area.

The staff is very freindly and efficient. The hotel is deceiving, since it looks smaller than it really is. It has five buildings surrounded by a beautiful courtyard. We stayed in building one and had canopy queen sized beds. I usually don't sleep well the first night away from home, but her i slept soundly.

The hotel has wi-fi, Hi def, and serves a continental breakfast. It has a pool and most amenities you'd find for a hotel, tough the atmosphere is quaint and quite NOLA.

My only compalint is that except for building five there are no elevators.

My husband and I impulsively decided to go to New Orleans for a long weekend (we had other plans to go North, but a major snow storm had other plans). We booked our room online and showed up the next afternoon.

Our room was beautiful and right on Chartres with a balcony and everything. The room was comfortable and spacious. We spent the weekend exploring the French Quarter and it was great to stay in the heart of it all. Never a far walk to wherever we wanted to go.

We will definitely be back.

I try to hit the French Quarter a couple times every year and have stayed at most of the hotels in that district now. Some look like they are going to be nice, but when you get there - surprise! This one actually is nice... The French Quarter is a historic district, so all of the hotels were built a very long time ago. his one has been restored very nicely, and is clean and quite habitable. Bring your swimming suit because the salt water pool is very refreshing after wandering around on a sunny & humid day.

We stayed here for Jazz Fest and will probably stay there again. The room was a nice size and very well decorated with a small balcony looking out over the old Ursuline Convent. Very nice at night although very small and we had to move chairs out from the room. Ursuline street itself is very quiet at night even though the hotel is just a few blocks from the French quarter, the Marigny and the riverfront and this was during Jazz Fest!

The only problems with the hotel we found were that the staff was very disorganized about the reservation and keeping the door key authorized, and the buffet breakfast was quite minimal. Overall though we like it a lot.

Stella! restaurant is at the hotel although you have to make separate reservations.

Room Tip: I'd avoid the front of the hotel.

This is a great hotel, it is charming, quaint and beautiful. We stayed in a second story room facing the main street. The french doors that opened up to the outside were gorgeous. There is a wonderful courtyard and pool. We didn't find out that the hotel is supposedly haunted until the ghost tour made frequent stops in front of our window. This hotel is in walking distance to most places in the French Quarter, including Cafe Du Monde and Bourbon Street.

Room Tip: Ask for the room on the second floor facing the St

This was my second stay here. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the French Quarter. The staff is extremely nice and accomodating, and if they dont know something, they are willing to find out and get back to you. The courtyard in the front building is a nice place to sit and relax in between sight seeing. The rooms are all different, and are in several different buildings. My first stay we had a double room with a balcony overlooking Decatur Street. I asked for that again, and instead recieved a room with walkways overlooking the courtyard and pool areas. Since the room was bigger and worked out great for us, I did not complain. Our friend asked for a king suite with balcony, and he got a fire escape.....so just beware, the hotels idea of a balcony may not jibe with your idea of one. Also valet parking is $23/day whether you take your car out or not (common for the hotels in that area). Other than that, our room was clean and pretty spacious, the bathroom was really nice with a closet and seperate shower/toilet area. The housekeeping service was awesome, they did a great job. I still would always pick this as a place to stay, it is one of the more reasonable French Quarter hotels.
