Stayed 1 week and I guess for the cost, I expected more... I usually pay 1/2 what I did per night at hotels, but no fridge and no safe?... Housekeepers were FANTASTIC as were Concierge Staff. Booked several Grayline tours and Stanley and Darrell were very helpful as well as polite and respectful considering they basically work in a BAR! (The entire foyer has no walls-just a little partition, but is extremely NOISY..

Overall, not a bad place to stay. It was great to be close to the Conference I attended. It would be great if there were benches out in front of the Hotel for people watching/waiting for Shuttles, etc. (I imagine Homeless would be using them and this may be why there aren't any)

The beds were fairly comfortable and although there were plenty of pillows, they were very small and not very firm.

The pool was adequate, but is between 3 large buidlings and not heated, so really only was used once. There was a lot of what looked like black shingle dust in the pool and floating in the water. (Maybe it's time for a new roof for one of these buildings?...)

Location, location, location was FABULOUS and I would stay there again. Especially with the pretty view of the River...

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor. I was on the 12 th floor (Rm 1252) but we took a ride on the eleva...

Dear Marla M,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review about your most recent stay. We are thrilled to hear that your interactions with our concierge staff were great, and we will be sure to share your comments with the team. However, I would like to apologize that the room you received did not meet your expectations. This September we will begin a complete room renovation that will consist of a brand new Marriott design and will certainly address your concerns with the room you received. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back to our property and exceed your expectations.

I came here with my wife for a conference and had a great time. Typical Marriott, great rooms and comfy beds. Bar area very nice, staff pleasant. Did not try the restaurant. I especially like the elevators believe it or not. You punch in your floor and the display tells you which elevator to board. Seemed to work alot faster than the traditional elevator. Location is on the border of the French Quarter and the CBD so location couldn't be better. Streetcar right in front, easy walk to most touristy spots.

We stayed here while in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl. Since it was a team headquarters, the hotel was quite full. The parking garage was over capacity and the attendants were parking cars elsewhere. They were quite organized and did a good job.
The hotel staff was excellent, so courteous and helpful. The lobby bar was constantly crowded but the servers did a good job under trying conditions.
Our room was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. The French Quarter is close, as is Jackson Square and Café du Monde. I would stay here again when in New Orleans.

I attended a three day conference at this hotel and was quite pleased. Upon arrival the front desk attendant checked me in, offered me several different room options and ended up putting me in a king room with a view of Canal Street. The bed is very comfortable, the TV is a big flat screen model with plenty of channels, including HBO. The room is also furnished with a lounge chair and ottoman and a work desk. The bathroom is spacious and the provided toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, shower gel, mouthwash, body lotion, and bar soap) are all nice quality. Maid service is very good here as well.

The health club is large with probably 15 or more treadmills, elypticals, and stationary bikes, as well as four or five weight machines and free weights. It seems as though there are many health enthusiasts at this hotel as getting on the machines early in the morning is a challenge... Towels, headphones, water, and fruit are all provided.

The conference facilities are spacious with plenty of room to accommodate very large groups. There are also plenty of small breakout rooms. The banquet food has been good for the most part, which is generally not the case for conferences this size.

If traveling for work or planning a conference, I would certainly stand behind recommending this Marriott. It's been a pleasant stay!

Our first visit to New Orleans we stayed at the Marriott on Canal Street. The staff was friendly and courteous . The rooms were clean, quite, and the bed was
very comfortable. With all the night noise on the street it was amazing we heard very little once in our room. We would definitely stay again!

We were in town for Jazzfest and looking for an affordable hotel with basic amenities. We weren't planning on spending much time at the property but wanted a location that was central for transportation to Jazzfest as well as walkable for dinner in the French Quarter. The Marriott fit the bill nicely. In addition to the Jazzfest shuttle, which picked up directly across from the hotel, the area public transportation system offers a dedicated bus that runs to and from Jazzfest, also picking up in front of the hotel. This was the easiest and least expensive way to get to Jazzfest - $3 each way! From the hotel we could also walk to all the spots we enjoy in the Quarter. If we had planned to spend all our time exploring the Quarter we may have stayed elsewhere but having done that on previous trips this was perfect for our needs. Great price. Great location. Marriott quality and consistency.

Perfect location for French Quarter jaunts. Friendly staff, nice rooms and very comfortable beds! You are in the French Quarter & you are close to the river, so expect the noises from both (river boats & excited people). Would definitely stay here again.
