Enjoyed this hotel, room was nice and big. Parking is expensive at $33.00 a night but there was no need to drive anywhere. The I said in did have a couple of problems 1. The t.v. did not pick up all channels and 2. the tub did not drain well. The staff was friendly and helpful....

Loved this hotel for many reasons 1. On Canal Street two blocks south of Bourbon and 2 Blocks north of Riverwalk. Can't get no better. Can walk to just about all locations. The hotel restaurant is a plus along with it's lounge. Only dislike is parking is very very expensive. $33 per night. Just take a shuttle to city from airport. $38 roundtrip and ride the cable (get all day pkg) or walk.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room with a view...Make sure it's off canal street or river view

This hotel is in a great location for shopping, restaurants, clubs, etc. We were late getting in, so there wasn't any problem with check-in. But we noticed long lines the following day. It would help if they had more people at the front desk during peak times. We had a very large corner room with a great view of the French Quarter, the river and up Canal Street. There was a good size closet with plenty of room for a short stay. Nice large flat screen TV. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but that was really the only negative about the room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely choose this Marriott again.

Room Tip: The corner rooms have great views and are worth the upgrade.

At the edge of the French Quarter on Canal, across the street from two streetcar lines, easy walk to convention center, casinos, etc - overall a great location! Staff was wonderful and friendly, especially the concierge and bell desk staff. At check-in they got a little overwhelmed (we were there for a big conference), but from there on out everything was good. Layout means lots of good views from the two towers that comprise the hotel. Rooms on smaller side, but very typical size for a downtown urban hotel, and property is very well maintained and has fairly new amenities. I appreciated that the staff were ready with non-tourist-trap recommendations for restaurants and other places to go. I'd stay here again, especially now that I've been to the French Quarter and know I wouldn't want to stay actually inside that area.

Room Tip: There are two towers, so I'm sure the views vary a lot from one to the other and which side you...

This hotel is right on Canal and in a fantastic location for the French Quarter or CBD.

I made the stay on priceline last minute for about 25% of the rate on the Marriott website. Was able to check in 30 minutes later.

Room was fine, a bit small but waht do you expect using priceline? My only complaint is no free wi-fi AND no free internet in the business center. Usually you get free internet access in some way.

This Marriott sits in a good location if you're either wanting to be a tourist on Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, or the Riverwalk area. It's also just a mile or two from the huge convention center, so that's walkable, too. Regular high-rise downtown-style Marriott with the typical Marriott rooms.

Positive: Room and location are fine. Also, the evening and breakfast served in the concierge-level lounge was quite good (definitely better than most!). I just wish they'd open on Saturday and Sunday when I often have to work and stay at Marriotts, too.

Negative: Surprisingly, the housekeeping (even on the concierge floor where I stayed) fell short in a couple area. First, they have Best-Western-style plastic cups in the rooms rather than glasses (which is odd for a Marriott). Second, they replaced my shampoo only 1 of the 4 days I was there. Third, they didn't provide a new bathmat the last two days of my stay. Fourth, they were very inconsistent in providing towels... there were 2 there when I checked in, they left only 1 the 2nd day, put 4 in the next day, and gave me 2 the final time. For $200+/night, you generally should expect better.

Lobby loud and crowded; rooms small; desk clerk offers a better room at $20 more a night. Room service takes forever and then wrong. They charge just as much as some of the better hotels in same area (loews) and the difference is incredible. Stay away.
