We were in town for the UFC fights and lucked out to grab this hotel at a great price considering the location and event and a lot of the fighters were staying there too so that was a big bonus. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was extremely courteous. From the time we walked in the staff was as helpful as could be and made the stay very personal despite the large size of the hotel. When calling the desk the staff used your name when addressing you as did the bellhops and valet employees. The kids love the pool and elevators, which are very fast and impressive. We hada room on the 25th floor and the view of the city is great at night and daybreak. The only drawback was the lack of a safe in the room. We have stayed in several hotels from the Royal Sonesta to the Holiday Inn around the French Quarter and this was as nice as any and much better price.

Room Tip: Request an upper level floor, the view is amazing

This hotel is located on Canal street and is a great base location for your tour of the city. The French Quarter is just a short walk away. The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. Nice, clean rooms, wonderful bedding, quiet. Reasonably priced for a hotel located so close to the main tourist destinations. I will stay here again.

I agree with everyone that the location is perfect.
However everyone beware of your valuables. We stayed at The Marriott in August for 3 nights, and there are no safes in the rooms. I had my jewellery stolen from inside my suitcase, which was not easy to get into. Unfortunately , I did not realise this until after my return home. The Marriott head of security has confirmed that there was no unauthorised entry into our room, so we can safely assume that my jewellery was stolen by the cleaning staff. We also were on the executive level of the hotel, and was told that the staff have been working there for an average of 10 years. Be very very careful, as you cannot expect to stay in this Marriott, without someone going through your belongings.

The Marriott is on Canal so it's on the edge of the Quarter and a quick drive to the Garden District. The elevators take some getting used to, but once you do, you'll wonder when all tall buildings will move to this type! The room was a decent size, not huge, but the beds were like sleeping on a cloud. Marriott's staff was friendly, helpful and not snobbish as locals can be in some towns. Valet parking was decent; took about 5-10 min to get our car anytime we asked. I'd recommend this hotel!

Spent two nights at the New Orleans Marriott with a great rate of $103/night. The hotel was fantastic. It was a very busy hotel, but the room was great. Beds were very comfortable and the location is great. We stayed in a River Tower room which had a great view. About one block from Bourbon and two blocks from the Shops at Canal. Easy walking distance to the river and Cafe Du Mond. Thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and would stay there again.
