The staff was great. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. The hotel itself was beautiful! The pool was wonderful. Best of all there was parking! The hotel was a short walk to Bourbon street, which was nice because the hotel was our peaceful getaway! We loved it and can't wait to go back.

I was thrilled to find this B&B on the border of the French Quarter and the Marigny. The location was ideal for hanging out on Frenchmen Street and wandering around the French Quarter. This charming old mansion was renovated in the end of 2012, and the big soft beds, flat screen tv and other modern conveniences complement the historic features perfectly. They even delivered a Keurig machine to my room in the middle of my stay. I stayed in the small annex across the street from the main house, and I wish it had been a little cooler, so I could have relaxed on the front porch and enjoyed the sounds of the brass bands that wafted over from Frenchmen Street early in the evening. At least the air conditioning worked well, and the street was quiet, so I could sleep well at night. The staff was charming and helpful, and the prices are extremely reasonable. I will definitely be back.

Check out these tips for more things to do outside the French Quarter. http://joannedrummond.blogspot.com/2012/11/finding-heart-of-new-orleans-outside.html

We are thrilled to hear that you found your guestroom to be so comfortable, the location of the hotel to be exactly what you were looking for and our staff to be so helpful! It seems as though we were able to fulfill all your needs in regards to accommodations while in New Orleans. We are sorry to hear that the weather was not cool enough to allow you to take advantage of the front porch off of your room, but that just means you should return in the Fall to enjoy our crisp, refreshing weather! We appreciate your kind words and look forward to having you back!

Stayed 3 nights in July in their Kerlerec street house behind the main Esplanade hotel. My room looked like it had recently been renovated (I'm assuming it's true of the entire Kerlerec house as well). Everything was clean and in great shape. Room was somewhat smallish but that was fine. My room had a small enclosed ground level patio. Bed was comfy. Place was quiet. Only noise was from the air conditioning and the occasional chatter of hotel staff getting together before doing their rounds in the morning. Location was perfect if you want to be a block away from Frenchman street and a short walk from the french quarter.

We are so pleased to hear you found your recent stay at the Lamothe House to be so pleasant! You are correct in noting that the entire property has recently undergone renovations, not just the Marigny Annex. It sounds like our prime location off of Esplanade Avenue, bordering the Marigny and the French Quarter, was exactly what you were looking for! Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to see you again at any of our French Quarter Guest Houses properties!

Stayed here mainly because it was the only hotel I could get for just one night near the show we wanted to see. The Lamothe House is our new favorite place to stay, & we've stayed all over the Quarter and the rest of NOLA. This is absolutely the cleanest, nicest, NON-SMELLING, comfortable, relaxing, & quiet lodging in NOLA. Great staff, fantastic location, good price, beautiful courtyard & pool. Free wi-fi, convenient parking. (Ask for 116 & you're car is just steps away.) Its all good here! Located in Marigny near Frenchmen St. but close enough to the Quarter to walk to clubs & stores there. The best!

We stayed for 2 nights at the Lamothe House and were very pleased with our visit. The location is great for people who do not want to stay in the thick of the Quarter but still would like to be within walking distance. The hotel was quite beautiful and had all the character of an old New Orleans home. The beds were beyond comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Parking was provided for an additional $20/night which is cheaper than most places in the Quarter.

Do note that the house itself is quite old and creaks and groans like an old house. If you think you will be bothered by this then you might be better off at a more modern place like the Marriott. We stayed in room 101 (which is right on the street) and had no trouble with road noise but could hear people going up and down the stairs. It was not bothersome to us at all, but if you are a light sleeper it might annoy you.

Room Tip: Room 101 is VERY large with 2 Queen beds, but do be aware it is street level and under the stairs.

We booked this hotel with location in mind. We were only a block off Frenchman St which was wonderful! We wanted to enjoy great music, food, and fun! We were also close to the market and within walking range of Bourbon. Had everything we were looking for and for an affordable price. Clean room, small pool, great location, and lots of New Orleans charm!

My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary in NOLA and stayed at the Lamothe House. We were not disappointed. We were late checking in and Rene was wonderful. Our room was very comfortable, and the bedding was perfection. We stayed in the deluxe king and found it spacious. We were close enough to Frenchman St to hear a few of the Jazz bands from our seating area. The pool was always the perfect temperature which speaks alot being it got up to heat index of 105. My only suggestion would be adding a mini fridge to the room.

Room Tip: After speaking to several of the other guest I never heard a single complaint about any of the rooms...
