A friend and I traveled to New Orleans for a short holiday and stayed at this hotel. The staff are all very friendly and helpful: Rene, Todd, and Al -- great guys, answered all our questions and helped us to enjoy a very comfortable stay. The hotel is ideally located for those who enjoy the charms of the quiet side of the French Quarter. It is located in a residential area on lovely Esplanade Avenue, adjacent to Frenchman Street and the Fribourg Marigny, a neighborhood chock full of great little bistros, cafes, and restaurants and definitely worth exploring.
The rooms have been recently renovated and are quite comfortable (bedding is exquisite) while retaining the charm and ambiance of an historic Inn. Additionally, this hotel provides EASILY-ACCESSED AND REASONABLY-PRICED SECURE PARKING!! The parking area is directly adjacent to the property, making it very easy to access and use your vehicle during your stay. As someone who regularly visits New Orleans, and always by car, I cannot tell you what a plus this little perk is.
I am happy to recommend this hotel based on my first experience there. Lamothe House will weigh heavy on my mind when I book my next New Orleans visit.
