I loved it. My room was big and spacious with high ceilings and huge windows. The entire hotel has great ambience. The hallways are wide and each is lined with unique, worth-a-see art work. The staff was extra friendly and helpful. The restaurant food and room service was very good. As far as location goes, I don't think you could find better.

Don't get me wrong, Le Pavillon is a nice hotel, but it's no different than any other hotel I have visited. Sure, it looks old-timey and has been around for 100 years, but that's where the "special" ends. I hate to start off with negatives so I will list the positives first:

The location is great. It's located within walking distance to just about anything one would want to do in the French Quarter, CBD, or even the Warehouse District (that may be pushing it though).
The staff is friendly and welcoming (just like any hotel).
The PB&J at 10pm is a neat tradition.
The rooftop pool, although small, is nice. The view is great!
The rooms are comfy and cozy. Even the arm chairs are comfortable.
Parking is available right next to hotel (if you don't mind a slightly inflated price for convenience - which we didn't. It's well worth it - there is a staff member 24/7 tending the lot).

Now for the cons. Little things add up in my book, so all these "little things" really dampened my
overall experience. Keep in mind, I did like staying here, it's just these things make it your average hotel:
The shower tile and grout are dirty.
Shower head wouldn't stay in position - time to change it. Plus, it wasn't clean either.
Water pressure is too low - which could be attributed to being an old building, so this isn't a major issue.
Dusty furniture.
Dirty toilet.
Thin walls (too be expected in an old hotel - was only a problem one night).
The in-room iron functional, but damaged - not classy.
Fake plants outside and in (very unclassy).
Never received complimentary newspaper - sure it's complimentary, but we never received it as promised.
The one morning we ordered room service really sealed the deal on an average rating from me. The corned beef hash was from a can. I took a gamble on the hash hoping for real corned beef hash - bummer. The biscuits were not fresh and obviously the frozen variety. And to top all that off, the creamer dish hadn't been properly cleaned in some time - gross.
No in-room coffee maker.

We did enjoy our stay and would definitely consider Le Pavillon again, but it's just not as "high class" as they and other reviewers have let on. It's location is it's major selling point for me. For those not living around the NOLA area, do yourself a favor and don't eat at Le Pavillon if you want authentic NOLA food - unless you have to for convenience sake. Try Surrey's for the best breakfast in the NOLA area and there are countless other restaurants with great non-frozen, freshly prepared food.

Room Tip: I might suggest staying away from the suites on the north side of the building. This is where the m...

Stayed here passing through and was really impressed. Highly recommend this Hotel. The room was spacious with high ceilings so you didn't feel "closed in". And the PB&J's in the evenings adds a nice touch before calling it a night.

This hotel has been restored to perfection and is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen or had the pleasure of staying in! Mind you, it is an old hotel so don't expect the elevators to move at lightning speed or the rooms to be palatial. You stay here because you want to experience a historic place. However, it was just right for my husband and I for a long weekend. First, the location is superb - short walking distance to the French Quarter, easy access to the St Charles & Canal St streetcar lines and not too far from the Warehouse district (lots of art galleries, bars and restaurants). And since it is in the Central Business District, it's very quiet. All the time. I slept soundly every single night (the bed is one of the best I've slept in)! The king room is on the small side, but as I said, more than adequate for a couple staying for a long weekend. The decor is just brilliant, and the rooftop pool and hot tub are the icing on the cake! It was so terribly humid while we were there, and dip in the pool almost every afternoon was exactly what we needed! I wouldn't stay in NOLA in a hotel without a pool ever! The peanut butter & jelly snack bar from 10P-11P is wonderful and a great way to mingle with other guests. The staff of the hotel is also superb - friendly, attentive, and hospitable for whatever you need. I would most certainly stay here again and it was a great intro to NOLA!

Room Tip: Our room was facing the street and we couldn't close the drapes - if you don't like to be wo...

If you love the glam look of chandeliers in the lobby and frescos on the ceiling, you will love this place. It also happens to be clean, comfortable and fun! Make sure to go down to the lobby at 10 pm for pb & j sandwiches and hot cocoa with real whipped cream. :) You will see kids in pjs and adults acting like kids. This historic old hotel keeps its charm and warm feel by hiring wonderful people to work there (except one). The first doorman helped me with luggage and then helped to find a place to park and the person behind the desk made sure i wasn't afoul of the traffic laws. The concierge helped with a last minute business need, including getting a notary to come to the hotel and get documents to a closing pronto. Everyone and everything was great about this place until...after a $17 tip at check out split between the bellman and doorman...the doorman stood there on the front step counting in front of me in a very obvious way his $7 part of the tip. Crass and uncalled for given i had already tipped $10 to the bellman who took our bags from the room all the way to the front step. So, the doorman upon arrival was GREAT and the other younger, tall, doorman on departure made me feel like dirt. Hope management reads this and admonished the one who ended our otherwise wonderful trip on a bad note. $17 tips to get bags from a room to a car should be enough, and even if that man thought it wasn't, he should be well trained in the service industry to discreetly put his tip in his pocket, smile and wait until LATER to count it.

The staff makes you feel special from the moment you arrive. The doorman, the bellman, the desk are so very polite and helpful. Great bar for a pre-dinner cocktail. Good breakfast buffet, but ala carte is good too. Haven't tried the restuarant, but should have. That's another story involving a Historic location. Rooms are very nice. Ask for a bay window room, extra space with a table and two chairs. We've been before and will be back.

Room Tip: Request a bay window
