Perfect location for mardi GRAS and French quarter, or a saints game. Safe, beautiful, elegant. Absolutely adore the staff. The hotel sought out its employees and brought them back after the hurricane. Don't miss the 10pm pB and j.

I visited this property about a year ago and was a little disappointed in the room. They have updated some things and we had a great stay. Bedding was newer and the room smelled good. Service was great - they even brought us ice, slippers and cookies while we were out to dinner. Although it's a little walk from Canal Street, it's worth it to stay here.

I had pawed over the photos of this hotel before booking and thought it looked beautiful on line. I wasn't wrong. In the flesh it is gorgeous. The lobby is full of chandeliers, beautiful old fashioned furniture, gilded and gold and sparkly and elegant. I had requested to be away from the elevators which was noted and we were given a lovely room on the 6th floor. No view to speak of but the room was cute enough, I didn't need a view. The room was comfortable and the bathroom cute with its curtain valances above the shower curtain etc. The bathroom was quite small but perfectly fine. The hall ways were dotted with domes in the ceilings painted with clouds and angels and roses and such romantic things. The lift doors/ area painted in roses and flowers and is really pretty. We used the gym which was sufficient enough. The pool was closed for work so didn't swim at all. There is a spa pool but did not use this either as we were too busy taking in the sights. The internet worked well in our room when needed. Our beds were turned down each night and cookies and water left for us. The beds and linen super comfortable. The tradition of the jelly and peanut butter and hot chocolate buffet in the foyer between 10 and 11pm each night is a nice touch. I tried this once as the other nights we were back too late for this indulgence. It is an easy and pleasant walk to Bourbon Street and to local restaurants. I was initially disappointed we did not have a hotel in the French Quarter but was happy with the hotel location when I realised hotels close to Bourbon Street could be really noisy. The only thing was the price of the parking. $35.00 US per night. On the really high side, but there is public parking lots close by that you can park in that is cheaper but you then still have to walk to the hotel from there. Although not far we were just too tired to deal with this so paid the hotel fee. Parking is valet but we were too impatient to wait for our car to be brought to the front door when going out (we had places to go and lots to see :-)) and as the park was so close we would just walk to the car park and retrieve our keys from the attendant which was no problem. Staff were lovely, the door men always courteous and friendly. I would definitely stay again.

I am a Hilton Diamond member, but I stayed here with some other folks on business who wanted to stay here. I was not disappointed. While the rooms are perhaps a little too ornate (my bed had something over it that made it look like Dracula's coffin), they are nice, the amenities are good, the PB&Js the serve at night are second to none, and the lady who makes the omelettes is very, very friendly (and make a very, very good bacon & cheese omelette)!

Stayed here for 2 nights for business. The hotel property is drop dead gorgeous with beautiful chandeliers, high ceilings and lots of antiques and decorative wall moldings throughout the lobby.

Bedroom was well sized with a very comfortable bed and beautifully decorated. Bathroom was not oversized but very clean with lovely soaking tub.

The property is located downtown and a short walking distance to the French Quarter so the location we found very convenient.

Overall a great experience, a true first class city hotel, fantastic staff, very friendly, courteous and helpful and we would most certainly stay there again.

I have stayed here twice now, and I love it. The building is decorated with an old fashioned kind of elegance, marble and chandeliers, antiques everywhere. The staff is what makes it though: from Cedric the doorman to Gustav the concierge, to every staff member you meet- all are solicitous of your comfort and helpful. If you need anything, you have but to ask. Very quiet. I have eaten in the restaurant there, tho not this trip- it's very good
Oh- and the beds are incredibly comfortable.!
The quarter is just two blocks or so away, an easy walk or a short cab ride.

Le Pavillion exceeded our expectations…it is indeed a grand hotel. The lobby is magnificent with crystal chandlers, artwork, very comfortable seating and extremely accommodating staff.

Cedric, the doorman, was fantastic. He set the tone for our visit with his upbeat personality and welcoming New Orleans attitude.

Our room was very tastefully decorated and immaculate. The turn down service, including a “good night” cookie and complimentary slippers, made us feel like guests, not customers.

It’s located about a 10 minute walk from the French Quarter meaning you can enjoy the “festivities” without being encumbered by the accompanying late night/early morning noise.

The room Interconnect connectivity is weak and sporadic so if you need to be wired you’ll be hanging around the lobby where the signal is slightly better, not great so if you need high speed access you may be frustrated.

We were quite tired the day we arrived so we decided to have dinner at the hotel. Service was excellent as was the professional wait staff…not so much the food.

Id rate this hotel between a 4-5 because of the weak Internet connectivity and “non event” dinner on our first night…but since the rating scheme won’t allow that I’m rating it a 5 because the service and ambiance offset the not so great food quality and we’re on vacation so maybe I should spend more time enjoying New Orleans than being on line.

One other thing…checking in, with a car load of luggage, was a breeze. Leaving was a little complicated. Took a while to get our luggage and car. Not going to ding the hotel for this since we checked out during the busy hour. This is just a “heads up” in case you’re on a tight schedule.
