“Beautiful Hotel, Wonderful Restaurant, Amazing Staff!”
Reviewed August 26, 2009

From the moment my colleagues and I entered the hotel, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible! The decor is elegant yet comfortable and the rooms are plush and beautiful! The location couldn't be better - you are within walking distance from some of the best sights and restaurants in New Orleans yet if you decide to have a cozy night in at the hotel, Rambla, the hotel restaurant, is the place to go! The service was exceptional and the food was absolutely delicious! I will most definitely be staying at the International House again soon!

We've stayed at the International House for several years on business and pleasure. The atmosphere is so nice and comfortable and the staff at both the desk and bar are more than happy to assist you with anything.

Good location, with easy access to CBD and FQ area. Great service, very comfortable room. Very much of a boutique feel hotel versus one of the massive convention style hotels.

We were in New Orleans to celebrate friends' 20th wedding anniversary. We love New Orleans hotels, and like discovering something new to us. We discovered International House from a magazine ad. The hotel is neat; staff is welcoming; hallways and rooms are nicely appointed; the bed was very comfortable and the view was what I consider to be typical New Orleans. It was a short stay, but our stay was nice. The morning was leisurely - the breakfast staff made our meal very enjoyable. We will be back.

Pros: The lobby & bar are true to the photos and very nice. The staff I met were all friendly. I stayed during French Quarter Fest & appreciated the soothing vibe after an active day. Bar very inviting, but I didn't stay long (tired). Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom large enough to sleep 3 on the floor! The fitness center was well equipped (treadmills, ellipticals, weights). Cons: Standard room is very small. Dim lighting mentioned in some reviews is NOT an exaggeration. It is dim even with the dimmer on high. The wallpaper, carpet & armoire in room showed signs of wear & tear you can see in daylight. Window in my room had a HUGe crack from sash to sash (a child could've pushed pane out). Reported it to front desk, no response. There was a gift basket in the room w/ a current date & someone else's name on it. This guest probably got upgraded to a larger room. Informed the front desk. It was never retrieved. Raided it on the last night. No coffee etc, in lobby as was advertised , but, if you can walk a few feet without your caffeine, Commerce restaurant ,across street has coffee, very good breakfast at great prices. As good as Mothers, with no long line. Over all, a nice stay, but nothing that made it stand out as a "boutique" experience.

A whimsical lobby welcomes you with a European sophistication...mood lighting and floral arrangements offer a delightful touch. No detail is overlooked here. The front desk and doormen are first class. Rockstar suites are a pragmatic option for anyone on a budget, or those seeking a romantic getaway. Loa's lounge is a nice place to begin the evening--a mix of hip, professional types. As for on-site dining, Ramblas offers a unique menu with an old-world Spanish charm.

I would certainly recommend this hotel to any business traveler or local who wants a hip, boutique experience without all the fuss.

This was my first stay at this hotel but given the opportunity it will not be my last. My initial impression from driving up was "what have I gotten my self into" however, from the time I got out of the cab and was greeted by the doorman it was a pleasant surprise. The decor was very nice, very clean, and the service was exceptional. I most definately recommend this hotel.
