This is a very attractive hotel. It probably would have been better if we had not been there on The BCS championship weekend. It was extremely crowded and the rates were inflated for the 3 day weekend. It was however missing some of the amenities one would expect when you are paying $500/night. Although the staff was friendly their duties were a bit stretched. Since the hotel entrance is on a busy street it was difficult to load and unload luggage. The room service menu is quite limited. Overall I would have to revisit it on a normal weekend to give a unbiased review.

Thank you for your review and we do look forward to having you back when it is not a BCS weekend. It was a hectic weekend for everyone and we know that our service level was 99% up to par. Obviously this is not ok, and we have made steps to insure that we will be ready for the next back to back New Years Eve, Sugar Bowl and BCS game!

We were lucky to get a hotel room the week of the BCS Championship. The International House is not in the French Quarter, but a very walkable few blocks away. It was also convenient to the casino, superdome, and convention center. We paid about 3-4x the going rate because New Orleans hotels were all charging a premium that weekend.
The room was very basic -- 2 queen beds a dresser and small closet. The bath was sufficient, but also rather small. There was no room safe, mini-bar, ice machine or vending machines. I consider those pretty standard these days. The front desk staff were nice, but seemed flustered at times especially with the hotel safe.
The bar was okay. The attached restaurant was tapas and before we were served 2 other tables walked out because they had not been waited on. The food was pretty good and we felt lucky to get any.
Our major complaint was this incredibly loud noise every hour or so 24 hours a day. At first we thought it was a car screeching its brakes on the street outside the hotel. After about 15 times we realized it must have been an a/c or heating unit. I cannot adequately describe how ridiculously loud it was. We would have done something in a normal situation, but the entire town was full so we just dealt with it.
As a value hotel, I would say this is an okay and convenient place to stay. I do not consider this a luxury hotel.

This hotel is in a great location. We were a short walk to 80% of the highlights of the city. The only place that was further was the Garden District. The street car to get you there was a short block away. The staff was very helpfull. If you need to get good sleep, choose the"Rock Star Room" no noise. Very dark. Compfy beds. The best sleep we had in a very long time. Chic decor. Everyone looks great in candel light. We plan on retuning to the International House on our next tip to Nola.

I stayed here in August for a weekend trip with friends. We loved the hotel! The place is cool, the service good, and the location was great. The lobby bar was fun and usually had a good crowd. It was a short walk to the French quarter, so it was a perfect place to stay and explore. We also chose to do a haunted history ghost tour. I don't remember the name of the tour, but it starts just outside Marie Laveau's House of Voodoo (cool place to check out). Any tour operator can tell you which one it was. It ended up being the highlight of our trip. I also highly recommend the Coffee Pot for breakfast. We went there twice it was so good! Can't wait to go back.

Extremely helpful staff, discrete and helpful. Lobby is very classy. Concierge Stephanie directed us to great restaurants and sites. ( Don't miss Ogden museum). Rooms spacious and understated. Best of all a tv-less bar and atmosphere.

I was initially "forced" to stay in a major hotel chain for a conference - but as soon as I found out that International House was just around the corner, I moved! Very cool lobby, nicely decorated rooms, but the outstanding feature of this hotel is the level of personal service! From the front door, to the frond desk, to anywhere else in the hotel - it seems they cannot do enough to make sure your stay is everything you want it to be.
