“Nice French Quarter lodging”

Clean, updated, staff couldn't do enough for us, with recommendations,
directions, and amenities we wanted for our room. Within walking dis-
tance to streetcar and public transportation-cabs always available out
front. Quality restaurants nearby. Great stay as part of
a package deal from Southwest Airlines.

This updated, cool hotel right on the edge of the French Quarter is perfect for a New Orleans getaway. You can pretty much walk to everything.
Rooms have very high ceilings and are well appointed - housekeeping is terrific!
They did have a corporate group there, but they didn't take over the place - we still felt very well cared for. Their bar, Batch, has a cool vibe...are a bit pricey...but it is a hotel. The pool is outdoors and not heated. They charge for internet in the rooms, but not in the lobby.

Room Tip: Rooms by the atrium are quiet...but you the risk of having a convention breakfast in the atrium...th...

We stayed in the Hyatt on Halloween for a last minute trip. The room was very large and comfortable. It had an extra sitting area, large bathroom and very comfortable furniture. In all was well designed to give a peaceful respite from the outside chaos. The staff was courteous and very knowledgeable, and responsive to our needs. Location was great if you are looking for a refined hotel in the French quarter. The building was older but the decor was modern and in excellent condition. It was a great stay

I stayed in this hotel for a conference. First time in NOLA. Short review/ conclusion: you pay for the location...Nothing extraordinary with this Hyatt chain hotel. But the location is absolutely perfect: close to everything in the core of the Easy. It seems that the rooms and bathrooms have been renovated but the finishings are not good (stains, lack of attention to details)... and I did not like the style ( but this is a personal opinion). Staff was friendly, average and nothing wrong. rooms were average clean and quiet. One comment: It is frustrating that in this times in you have to pay extra charge for internet access (not only Hyatt but many 'top brand' hotels still are doing that). It is funny; I was this week in a Super 8 located in Athabasca -a small town in northern Alberta- that gives you better rooms, free laptop, free Internet, free breakfast, free movies for less than a half the price ( and Northern Alberta is not a cheap place to stay or live). For sure, it is not at the French Quartier and Bourbon street. Bonne chance!

Recently visited New Orleans and stayed at the Hyatt French Quarter. We booked the rendezvous package offering a free upgraded room and a free breakfast each morning. The hotel was unable to give us a upgrade on Saturday. Our room was very small. A petite king is what they called it. We were very unhappy with our room. There was a loud vibration that was intermittent during the first night. Also we had a little critter in our room, it was a mouse, I was disgusted. So we called the front desk in the morning requesting an upgrade yet again and I was upset about the mouse which we did not mention until check out. We were able , after a few calls to get a upgraded room, actually they upgraded us to a 2 room, 2 bathroom beautiful enormous room. We were impressed. My hubby had a man cave and I had the large bed to myself. The breakfast was good and saved us about 80.00. The hotel is clean and close to everything. Friendly accommodating staff as well. Check in and check out smooth. I would stay here again despite the Mickey Mouse visit.

Room Tip: Put a towel under door stop to prevent unwanted night time creepers

I recently stayed at the Hyatt located on Iberville in the French Quarter for the pre-Halloween festivities as I have been doing since 2009. The hotel and guest rooms have been nicely renovated and are very clean. The hotel is perfectly located just one block up from Bourbon Street and a few blocks to Jackson Square and the Superdome, if going to a Saint's football game. The restaurants and bar, Batch, are a little over priced, but so is everything in the French Quarter. There is an IHOP located on Canal Street, which you can get to by way of the hotel lobby which is pretty convenient when craving pancakes at 3 a.m. The rooms are very pricey, but for the location...you are going to pay for it. The only complaints I have is that the Hyatt charges you $40 a day for valet parking, which I feel that for the price of the room (over $1000 for 3 nights at the hotel, and that's for the cheapest room at the Hyatt and does not include valet) you should get valet for free or even at a discount. $40 is a significant increase to what I paid in years past for parking. I arrived at the hotel on a Friday around 2:30 p.m. and checked out on Monday at 6:30 a.m. and the total charge for my valet was $132.50. I guess the Hyatt needs to pay for the multi-million dollar renovation job they have done at the Hyatt French Quarter. A word of advice if staying at the Hyatt French Quarter....do not drive and valet your car there! Granted there are other lots available, but when driving from out-of-town and not familiar with where to park, finding parking on your own can be stressful, especially since there is a lot of road construction going on. Take plenty of snacks when staying at the Hyatt because they do not offer you any type of continental breakfast, snack, etc. and if you drink the bottle of water that's in your room they charge you $4 per bottle. Stayed at the Best Western Plus in Bessemer, Alabama on my way to New Orleans, and the rooms were just as nice as the Hyatt and cheaper, and they offered a continental breakfast so why is it that hotels like the Hyatt don't offer some sort of breakfast besides the one you can get in their restaurant. Oh well, there is a Walgreen's located across the street (on Canal Street) from the Hyatt where you can stock up on snacks and water at a much cheaper price. Even as a Hyatt Rewards Member I was not offered a free bottle of water or anything. Other hotels that I've stayed at, and am a rewards member of, at least offer you a bottle of water or two for free.

Room Tip: Request a room away from the elevators on an upper floor.

I have stayed at a number of hotels throughout the years, I will not stay here again. We arrived late at night come to find in the morning stains on the sheets, the shower didn't work properly, garbage on the balcony, they ran out of coffee for the rooms. The room was noisy enough I couldn't sleep the first day and used ear plugs the rest of the time. What's more to say. The staff was nice.
