Stayed here off season in the summer. Got upgraded to a suite with a balcony over Bourbon Street. It's really awesome to have a hotel with the iconic balcony where you can watch the mayhem below while staying above the fray. That said, it can be a bit noisy when trying to sleep, but if you're coming to New Orleans to sleep, don't stay on Bourbon Street! Suite was spacious and beautiful. It's a bit on the expensive side, but worth it for the experience. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Try to get a balcony overlooking Bourbon--the quintessential NOLA experience!

Iberville, the street on which it is located, is trashy. At least it is not on Bourbon St.; Bourbon St. itself is a dump. But the other streets around there still try to maijntain the old French Quarter character. The Hyatt's actual room was quite comfortable and spacious, but it did lack a desk and electrical outlets for a computer. I definitely would go there again, but only IF I had to stay in the French Quarter.

Had an awesome stay at the Hyatt! The rooms were great ~ spacious, clean and very comfortable! Great location, walking distance to everything! Very quiet inside even with all the outside noise going on. The staff was amazing! They were very very helpful with our departure plans on Fat Tuesday! Thanks to them we did not leave too early and sit at the airport all day instead of enjoying the festivities! I will definitely be coming back!

After many trips to New Orleans, this was the closest hotel to Canal Street I had ever tried. Although a little noisy sometimes from the huge Mardi Gras parades on Canal Street, it was mostly very peaceful with well-appointed rooms, comfortable beds, a large bathroom, and a pleasant balcony overlooking the pool and poolside bar.

The staff is very accommodating and the gym is well-equipped. The only thing I did not like about staying here was the Powdered Sugar Coffee Shop. The morning staff is not at all friendly like everyone else and although the set up reminds you of a Starbucks, the quality of the coffee is not very good. Also one morning I bought a croissant that was at least 3 days old and so stale I couldn't even eat it. Our last morning, pressed for time, we had their breakfast buffet--room temperature, bland scrambled eggs, greasy cold sausage, a dry biscuit, and some cut up fruit. With tax and gratuity it was $49 for two of us. Even if it had been good that would have been a rip off, but since it was so bad it was almost criminal.

Powdered Sugar Coffee Shop aside, I would stay here again because of its comfort, convenience, and top notch concierge and door staff.

Room Tip: If you can get a balcony room overlooking the pool or courtyard, do so. I think the balconies overl...

My wife and I stayed over for a 4 day weekend during Mardi Gras. The staff was friendly and helpful. The manager even recommended a place for breakfast other than his own in-house spots. The room was very clean, comfortable and very modern, and had it's own temperature control (that actually worked). The hotel was well kept and even the fitness center was in great shape. We had an inside (courtyard view) room which was very quite. I was a little concerned with the noise level being that close to Bourbon Street and it being Mardi Gras, but the courtyard room was very quite. We walked to everything (the river front, Jackson Square, up St Charles, parades, restaurants, casino...). I even forgot my cell phone charger in the room, called the hotel when I got home and was directed to security who sent someone to retrieve it and it was returned in 2 days.

Great stay at the Hyatt French Quarter; I won't hesitate to stay there again.

If you're looking for a great hotel in or near the French Quarter, then I suggest the Hyatt. It's positioned on Canal Street and Burboun Street. The rooms are clean and spacious however the views from the room are less than desirable unless you get a balcony room facing Burboun Street. Careful when you're booking though because you may want a balcony room facing Burboun Street but there are pool balcony and balcony rooms that open to the commons area. Just know what you're paying for, but hey, you're in New Orleans, right? Who cares about the view! Anyway, great staff too!

The rooms at this hotel are very clean, we'll appointed. Hotel in fantastic location - you walk out the front door and you are on canal street ! Service is average at best. Food downstairs at the cafe was ordinary and service there needs a pickup.

Room Tip: We were on the fourth floor at maradi gras time and could not hear the street noise - so for a good...
