The pros: great location in the heart of the French Quarter; staff were helpful and friendly; the large outdoor pool was inviting; the hotel provided a complimentary welcome drink, complimentary coffee in the morning, and ice tea in the afternoon; the hotel honored our requests for a room away from Bourbon Street and an extra blanket. A coffee/tea-maker was provided, along with two complimentary bottles of water.

The cons: the room we got was on the small side so the queen bed dominated the room. The corridors are not wall-to-wall carpeted; rather, they are tiled. Thus, any time a hotel guest would open and shut the door or had a conversation in the hallway, the sound was very loud. One day, a couple staying in a room down the hall from us were engaged in a acrimonious argument that could be heard in our room. That was disturbing and we almost called the front desk to report it.

In spite of the negatives, we would stay at this hotel again. The price was reasonable and we benefited from the senior rate.

Dear jdc8mbc,

Thank you for staying with us in May. The 3rd floor is the only floor that has tile and we are working to address this issue. All of our inclusions are designed to make your stay seamless. Please let all your friends and family in California know that we value our West Coast guests!

Stayed for two nights June 30& July 1. Got the best deal by booking directly with the hotel itself - Summer in the City. Room was clean and viewed the pool. Breakfast was included in the package and it was great. Had a couple of drinks in the bar. Steve the bartender was great.Staff were friendly and polite
Hotel is right in the heart of the French Quarter. Toured Bourbon street first night. A local shop owner told us that the locals prefer Frenchman Street so we ventured on the second night. A little bit of a walk but lots of music.

My friends booked the Bourbon Orleans for our girl's trip to the Essence Music Festival and it was a great choice. Location is perfect if you like the live atmosphere of the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. We stayed 2 nights and they separated us with rooms - one on the 5th floor and one on the 1st. My friend and I took the 1st floor room and time we entered we knew we would not be getting much sleep. It was 6pm and already LOUD. We couldn't be moved because it was the Essence Fest and it was sold out so they gave us earplugs, which barely worked. Other than that, I really liked the hotel - our room was spacious, which was a nice surprise, the bathroom and shower was great and the lobby has a restaurant, which is a bit pricey and a great mimoas/bloody mary stand for $5. The staff was also friendly and helpful. Again, I liked the hotel and would recommend it if you like being in the heart of the action, but that's what New Orleans all about! If not, you may want to consider somewhere else.

Room Tip: Stay on a higher floor not near Bourbon St. because of noise level. Call ahead for a cab, it's s...

We stayed June 28 - July 4 and had an amazing time. staff is extremely nice and helpful. Didn't eat at the restaurant, but had nightly drinks at the bar. It's a nice break from the bustle of Bourbon street and bartenders were great!
Perfect location too!

Dear Jay D,

We are delighted that you had an amazing time here in New Orleans and the French Quarter. Our city is truly distinctive and unique in America. Thank you for your nice comments regarding our staff and in particular our bartenders in the Bourbon O! There are some really fun Tiki drinks for summer being offered, and you can keep the mug.

Right at the heart of French Quarter - sandwiched between the revelry on Bourbon Street and the artsy Royal Street. Jackson Square is a few minutes walk. The tram lines on Canal Street is about 15 minutes walk. Restaurants and bars - numerous. Location - outstanding.

Lobby is well appointed. Room was adequate - clean - nothing out of ordinary. Black tiles in bathroom is a nice touch. Miles of corridor.

Jazz places nearby. Overall - a very attractive location without compromising on room quality.

We stayed at the Bourbon Orleans hotel for 4 nights (June 30th-July 4) and absolutely loved it. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with spacious bathrooms and comfortable beds. We had a room that opened up onto the saltwater pool, which was lovely. It gets so hot in the afternoon in New Orleans at this time of year that the pool was absolutely essential for cooling off, and it was great to relax in the water, listening to the jazz music playing. The lobby was also gorgeous -- it was always great to come back to the hotel and smell the fresh flowers they had in this room. Loved the little details - free coffee in the lobby in the morning, water and sweet tea in the afternoon, friendly and polite staff. Will definitely come back here!

My husband and my Niece and I stayed here early July. This hotel is amazing! It's right on the heart of Bourbon St. Lots of ambiance and character. It's definitely worth taking the time to research and read about the history. Also take the time to look at the items in the lobby, lots of history! All of the staff are extremely nice and made us feel very welcome. Top notch security also.
We stayed in room 641. The room was very comfortable and clean. Now for the spooky part. After spending time in the French Quarter, we returned to our room. My husband fell asleep quickly. My niece and I were both reading, and suddenly we heard whispering. It was right in our room! It kept saying "hey, can you hear me now?" I jumped into my niece's bed and we huddled under the covers. We didn't sleep much, but we still thought it was exciting, even if it was kind of scary. I would definitely go back to this hotel! Thank you Bourbon Orleans for an unforgettable vacation!
