“Charm and style in French Quarter”
Reviewed April 30, 2014

The staff and premises of the Bourbon Orleans Hotel could not have been a better fix for our late winter blues. The location is perfect - just off Bourbon Street. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful with changing arrival times, and no problem seemed to phase them. The concierge, Mr. Ryan was wonderfully cheerful and helpful with suggestions and making reservations. And the staff of the Bourbon O Bar were exceptional - fresh only, homemade mixes and ginger beer, and an amazing array of cocktails developed by them for their guests. The room was large and overlooked Bourbon Street without the noise of the late night revelers, and we were entirely pleased with our visit there.

Really enjoyable few days here. As big walkers, can't really fault the location- you can walk a couple of miles in every direction and discover the whole city. Or just make it the 10 yards to bourbon street if you're so inclined. Critically, despite an outward facing room, overlooking bourbon wasn't a disturbance- seriously good glazing.

Reasonably appointed, "traditional" furnished rooms, high standard of service. Bit low on amenities- the pool area is very small and very much separate from the (very nice) bar- and housekeeping were a tad sporadic on what got done when. Thinking about it, despite booking a deluxe room, there was no bath, which seems a little stingy!

All in all, get a good deal on a room rate, and this is probably the best location you are going to get to explore the city. Absurdly comfy bed too...

I stayed at this VERY nice hotel from April 9-14 of 2014, and it was great. The location is perfect for walking anywhere in or adjacent to the French Quarter. I asked for and was given a courtyard balcony room, and the room was fine. It was on the small side, but it worked, as I spend little time hanging around the room. Housekeeping did a wonderful job daily, and the room has everything you might need. Toiletries include bath soap, shampoo and conditioner only. Lotion would have been a welcome addition. Check-in and check-out were flawless, and the staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The bar is on Bourbon St. but is not a typical Bourbon Street bar.....and that's good. It's comfortable and classy without being stuffy....but tends to be a bit expensive. All in all, not a single complaint from this very satisfied guest.

My partner and I were on a Road Trip from Orlando FL, to Santa Fe, New Mexico. On the way we booked this hotel because was in a great location. At arrival we were greet by the most friendliest valet staff and at check-in they gave us two complimentary drink vouchers. The room was small but its a historic building, so its part of the package. The room was cozy and well decorated. Sometimes you have to wait for the elevator but come on, its only six stories you can take the stairs. What I love the most about this hotel was the location, it's just right there in the corner of Bourbon St.

Room Tip: Ask the front desk if the room has a view to the pool area.

Check-in process was smooth and staff was extremely friendly. Elevator experience was rather long and pretty cumbersome. I had to change rooms upon arrival, as my room looked out directly onto the pool, but with the shutters not closing completely, I was able to look at those out at the pool directly in the eyes, and they at my potential undress. No problem changing the room, though.

Both rooms were clean, though, but pretty limited on the "freebies" like lotion, robe, etc.

Location can't be beat, and the bar at this place is awesome. Definitely enjoy the FRESH cocktails whipped up by the master mixologists.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bourbon Orleans. We were just staying for 1 night before leaving on a cruise out of NOLA, so I can't comment much on room/housekeeping service. But the hotel is gorgeous inside, and I found the room to be pretty standard sized and clean. I agree with another poster that the half-door shower was a bit silly and caused a lot of water to wind up outside of the shower. The bed was comfortable (I think - we made good use of our one night on Bourbon St!). Along with 1 complimentary drink upon check-in (use it on a beer - I used mine for $7 toward a mixed drink - the drink was $15!! My free coupon would have been better spent on a beer and I would recommend getting a mixed drink almost anywhere else for cheaper if that's your poison...), the room also had 2 complimentary water bottles, which were lifesavers in the morning! You can't beat the location in terms of accessing the French Quarter - you can see the back of Jackson Square from the front door, and our room was facing Bourbon St. The only drawback to great location in this area was that it was noisy until well past 3am. We knew we should expect this, but if you want a quieter night of sleep, you need to ask for a room on the other side or else this just isn't going to be the place for you. There was a mimosa and bloody mary cart in the lobby on Saturday morning too, which was a nice treat! I would definitely return here for a night or 2. We didn't get to take advantage of the pool, but it looked like a nice area, and I felt like we paid a very reasonable price for this hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful too!

Room Tip: If you want a quiet stay, ask for a room that is NOT facing Bourbon St!

We travelled by car to New Orleans and had no trouble finding the place, we are from Australia so,that made the start of our stay easy. Loved loved loved this hotel. The staff were amazing and very helpful. The rooms were clean and warm (we were there in January) . I would highly recommend this hotel,to anyone and if we are ever lucky enough to get to the USA again would definetly stay again. Big thanks to the two wonderful, ladies in the restuarant ( came in early on the day we were leaving to get us breakfast)
