The staff was very nice and helpful. The desk people were very welcoming. The bellman and the attendants did a great job with the bags and making sure we had a taxi on time.
The hotel lobby is very pretty and we really liked the courtyard with the pool.It is nice to have some quiet space when you have been out on Bourbon street for awhile.
We enjoyed the music at the piano bar.
We were pleasantly surprised how quiet our room was .

I went to NO for Halloween. It's kind of like a mini mardi gras. This hotel is located in the center of the FQ. You have St Louis Cathedral behind you and can walk right into Jackson Square. There is a swimming pool but I didn't use it. Checking in and out was fast.

All the staff in the hotel are very polite and the doormen hold the doors open for you. The doormen are always eager to help anyone that needs it and will get a taxi for you. If they feel that they have failed, they won't take a tip from you. I have arthitis in my knees and use a cane so I asked for a ADA room. The room was very spacious and had a roll in shower, Be sure to bring slippers with you because the tile floor in the hallway of the room and bathroom can be slippery. It is really for people with wheelchairs but if you have problems getting into a tub then the roll in shower is perfect. The most important thing in the bathroom was the toilet is high enough to get up without difficulty. Those of you who have knee problems know what I mean. The king bed was very comfortable and had lots of pillows. The small closet is set into the entertainment center. beside the TV. There are plenty of drawers and a safe is also fitted into the center. You get complimentary bottle water and coffee everyday. The maids are very efficient.

You are also given a complimentary drink at the bar in the hotel. I didn't eat at the restaurant but I did use room service. The food came fast and good. The bar is very large and the people there were very nice. Even the GM pitches in when it gets crowded. There are two men that play the piano in the evening. Each has a different style but always get the crowd to sing along. The bar faces Bourbon Street and makes it easy to people watch.

Anyone with a disability would find this hotel easy to manuver and staff always eager to help. I felt at home and will stay there again.

My niece and I had a balcony room on the St. Anne street side near Bourbon. While there is noise from Bourbon St virtually all night, there is an alarm clock with an iPod dock so I could drown it out with soothing music and we slept just fine. You get used to the noise after the first night, anyway. I could hear nothing from any of the rooms around us. Beautiful hotel with clean, well thought-out, rooms. Great showers.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Free water and coffee in the lobby every morning.

Located in the heart of the French Quarter with all the bars and hotels very walkable. Easy walk to Frenchmen Street for music. Highly recommended.

the best part of the weekend was the staff's recommendations on where to eat and very helpful, where NOT to eat.... the consierge was very knowledgeable with the biggest rolodex of info i've ever seen. our room was very quiet and the location to all the action on bourbon street was only 1/2 block away thanks again to everyone who made our trip fun...

We stayed at The Bourbon Orleans for a quick getaway. We had rooms facing the interior courtyard so heard no or very little noise from the streets. Our windows did not open, however. We did hear noise from the hallway right outside our door as a young men pounded on the door across from our door several times during Saturday night. We finally called the front desk and ask for someone to come up and speak to the occupants. We obviously did not know how many were suppose to be staying in the room. Someone from the staff did come up to speak to the men and resolved the situation after we had already spoken to their various visitors about the knocking and loud cell phone calls 2 or 3 times when they were in the hallway.
In some hotels where we have stayed, the person trying to enter the elevator area has to show a room key. Bourbon Orleans has no such requirement. Since the hotel is located "in the heart" of The French Quarter, such a requirement might be a good idea. When we mentioned it to the two ladies on the front desk the next morning, they stated that they pretty much knew by sight everyone staying at the hotel. Doubtful!
The service at the hotel was good from some employees and not good from others. I had to interrupt a personal conversation of a couple of front desk employees to ask a question.
Also - be aware, taxis are sometimes hard to get from this hotel. This might be due to the fact that the hotel is on a street that does not continue through. We had to walk down Royal Street a considerable length several times over the 4 day period to get a taxi.
The strong points of the hotel are the location and nice, clean rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for a room where a door to the outside or a window opens if fresh air is important to you. Ask ahead of time what to do with noisy hall noise at night so you'll be prepared.
