We travelled to NOLA by Amtrak and arrived at the hotel about 11PM on a Sunday. We had booked and prepaid through an online travel agency. We had NO problems with the staff from checkin to checkout 4 days later. The room was clean and well appointed. The renovations made to the hotel are evident.
We will be back.

Room Tip: Rooms on Bourbon Street can be noisy-especially on weekends & for special events. Corner suites...

This hotel has very nice rooms and nice amenities, such as a good gym with individual TVs on machines. However, the stay was ruined by being woken up in the middle of the night by hotel staff. First, the hotel phone rang at 2 am, waking up me and my wife from a dead sleep. Since I figured that anyone I knew would call me on my cellphone, I picked up the phone and hung it up. 10 minutes later, we got a knock on the door. It was a hotel clerk saying that he wanted to retrieve something from the pocket of a robe hanging on the back of the bathroom door that the prior guest had left. I told him - correctly - that there was no robe. It took another hour for us to fall back to sleep, in large part because we were furious that hotel staff would do something so inane.
The next day, my wife complained to the manager who said he would look into it since the staff member's actions were "against hotel policy." That was the last we heard from him - no apology, no nothing. As she checked out, my wife left her cellphone number for the manager to call to apologize. 3 days later, still no apology. Not a great way to treat hotel guests.

We stayed at the Bourbon Orleans the first week in March (just after Mardi Gras) but in the French Quarter, any time of year is good for activity and night life. We were traveling with our small son, so we weren't exactly "ripping it up" or anything, but it was fun to see.

Location: Absolutely the best! Located just on the other side of the church at Jackson Square, you are in perfect walking distance to just about everything in the area. You can easily make it anywhere in the French Quarter and surrounding areas. Jackson Park, Cafe du Monde, the Mississippi and Moonwalk and Riverwalk (etc, etc.). Truly a great spot.

Amenties: We were originally booked in Rm 633, but although the had it listed as a King room, it had two small twin beds, so we were moved to Rm. 404, which was nice. (One note: this room was what they had available, and turned out to be wheelchair accessible, so there was no bathtub, just a shower...plus, a few other changes from the standard room). We're not terribly picky, and were only staying a few days so it wasn't a problem for us. That said, it was of average size (smallish, but that is average in that area), and was very nice. We were never bothered by noise even though there was always a party on the next street over. (Orleans itself seemed relatively quiet). We only had breakfast at the onsite restaurant, but the food was good. Also the upstairs ballroom (and the whole hotel) has some interesting history to it, which I always enjoy learning more about.

Service: The employees we interacted with all were nice and helpful. I've been to places where you maybe had more of a feeling of people really going out of their way to help, but we had no complaints.

Local Restaurants: We ate at some very high-end spots (Brennan's), and some lower-end spots (where everything is either gumbo or a fried-something ;-). Either way, you should have no trouble finding something in the area. We ended up really liking the wine bar/restaurant right across the street from the hotel.

NOLA: By all means explore the French Quarter from top to bottom- it is amazing, and has incredible history and flavor to it. Don't miss the other activities and sites though. We've visited the plantations, done swamp tours, history excursions, played sports, etc. There's quite a bit to do.

Room Tip: Check to windows- there seems to be some variance on whether you get a full window when you are on t...

No major issues with this hotel, I'd stay here again. Overall it's a decent place to stay in a great location-sits right on Bourbon street in the French Quarter not far from Canal St. I expected a 4 star hotel such as Bourbon Orleans would offer a bit more than what we got. First off room was really small (a double queen on 5th floor). And wasn't really feeling that brick wall. Rooms have been recently renovated with some modern touches; not the best contracting job though, sloppy red paint job on bathroom wall. And who's bright idea was it to install half a shower door, water pooled all over the floor when we showered. Wish there was a tub as well but not essential. And where was NO dresser, we couldn't unpack our clothes so spent time always digging through my suitcase. Room service was not too expensive until they add $2 service charge plus 20% and tax, cost not worth what they offered for room service. We had 2 vouchers for free drink at the hotel bar but it wasn't open when we wanted to go, opened at 5p weekdays, and I guess earlier on weekends, well we're out drinking at the multitude of bars in the area by that time. One of the doormen was not too friendly and didn't seem to always want to open door for us, other than that staff were very helpful. Wish it didn't cost to use computer terminal. Finally, didn't note a jacuzzi or sauna, if there is my apologies but if not wish they had that amenity. I guess it was just the lack of certain amenities that disappointed me. Thanks

We went thru Mardi Gras and when they hand you earplugs upon registration, you better believe you need them. We were on 6th floor overlooking Bourbon Street. The partying never stops, but it was awusome!! The rooms and restaurant were top notch and the location was ideal being walking distance to attractions. We used Gray Line Tours and that was two blocks away. I would demand to stay here the next time because it is in th French Quarter and Bourbon Street , yet it is high end for facilities.

Room Tip: If you want it quiet, ask for a room facing the courtyard. A couple we went with had a room on the...

I'm a meeting and event planner and recently had a weekend meeting at The Bourbon Orleans Hotel. It was a last minute booking, the week of Mardis Gras so I was certain the hotel wouldn't be able to accommodate me. Well, they did and in a big way! The hotel, which recently underwent a multi million dollar reno, is historic, located in the heart of the French Quarter and is absolutely beautiful! Being a stone's throw away from Bourbon Street, I thought surely I'd get some complaints about the noise but I didn't get one complaint, all compliments on the hotel and location. The service was great, the food was great and the meeting space was ideal for a group my size. I'd definitely return for business and for pleasure too!

Room Tip: If you can, go for the suite. It's 2 levels with a spacious balcony! Only one bed though on th...

Our stay at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel was great! The beds were very comfortable and warm with the fluffy comforters. The bathroom was beautiful with the black marble. We had a room off the pool area, but the noise abruptly ceased at 10:00 pm so was never an issue. The lobby is lovely and comfortable and the complimentary breakfasts were delicious! We stayed for 3 nights before our cruise. Our flight home after the cruise was late afternoon, so we asked if we could come back and leave our luggage, so we could spend another day in New Orleans without dragging luggage around with us. They graciously allowed us to bring our luggage back and locked it up, allowing us the freedom to shop and sight see unincumbered by luggage! We also just hung out in their lobby until it was time to go to the airport. We enjoyed our stay and will stay at the Bourbon Orleans the next time we are in New Orleans.
