Given..this is a super old building/s. for gods sake clean this place. Stay wasn't bad and our king room was quiet and plenty big. I just can't get over how dirty this whole city is. Our tv remote didn't work, front desk attempted to fix it but failed after he left. For $150 night..put some money in this place and try to improve it. I stayed at the country inn and suites a few days after and it was very nice for the same price.

Judging by some of the other reviews I had seen, I was looking forward to staying in a charming boutique hotel in a great location. The location is great, but that's it. This place needs a LOT of work. Our room was uncomfortable, small, and dirty. There was a balcony, which I thought at least I could enjoy, until I went out to it and found an ashtray full of butts, along with a dirty plastic glass with the same. There was a pretzel on the floor. Clearly the place had never even been vacuumed. The furniture in the room was cheap and worn out. Our friends had a room that was like something in an attic. So small it was like a closet. When I husband went down to the desk to protest, he got a response of "that's what you rented." We had heard that the staff was friendly and helpful, but that was not our experience.

I was very skeptical about staying at this hotel once I started reading all of the travel reviews but I admit that my stay was not bad. Sure the rooms are a little musty but this is an old building. The location is great and within walking distance to most restaurants, bars, historical sights. A special thanks goes out to the security guy! This guy deserves a raise because he takes his job very seriously. He actually found that we left our key in the door all night and I'm so thankful he was watching out. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. This hotel could use some modern updates but who goes to New Orleans to stay in the room! Great location and clean!

Room Tip: We chose a room near the courtyard and upstairs. I heard of other complaining about being downstairs...

Very charming. 200 years old with several buildings. Clean, staff very friendly, helpful.

Walking distance to Burbon street. Barkus parade right down our street. Prices very good.

Room Tip: Rooms around courts with pools or on/or near street seem brighter

We booked this hotel for 3 nights and wanted to give you the feedback. Room wasn't updated and very small. Old TV box reciever, old bed (comfy somewhat). We were on the bottom floor and you could hear everyone in the hall! Only thing updated was the bathroom.

Parking is limited so don't more your car when you get there.

Front desk cleark with glasses needs an attitude adjustment or a new career, no people skills and was rude to me the first morning because I went and told them they were out of juice, really?!?!??! Beware of him

Positive notes:

Great location to walk to bourbon street and the quarter

Have a grocery store to run in a get water, beer, snacks, etc

Robert- he works in the hotel, probably the nicest person we meet there! This
Guy should be the manager!!!! Please look him up, he will put a smile on your face!

If you are on a budget or not in the room a lot, you can manage it.....if not spend
30-40 extra a night and stay at La Pavillion or the W, FYI

We were due at the hotel the next day but had to move our travel schedule up a day. We called from the road and got a reservation. However our room was musty, triggering my wife severe allergies. We told them we could not stay in that room. We were not offered another room and told we woUld be charged for 1 night's stay if we left. We left. The next day we called to management to appeal the 1 night's charge. Not only would he not consider our appeal because of my wife's allergies, he was confrontational in his response. Our appeal was based upon my wife's health condition and our experience traveling over the years when hotels have waived fees in cases like this. While we understand that the hotel is well within their rights to charge the fee, it would have made better customer service sense to take the fee back. Regardless, we did not appreciate the way in which Managemnt denied our appeal. Professionals, particularly in the service and hospitality industry, can say "no" in a manner that is hospitable and friendly.

The hotel is comprised of two older buildings in a nice residential area of the French Quarter - quiet at night but only 2 blocks from Bourbon St. Easy walking to everything - the riverfront, the French Market, the Trolleys, the parades. We were there Feb 11-15 (a week prior to Mardi Gras week) and slept well each night. The room had high ceilings, an ornamental fireplace, and a balcony overlooking Burgundy St. The bathroom was modern. The staff was friendly and efficient. A local bakery delivered homemade donuts early every morning and the coffee was great. That was plenty to start the day, there's lots of great food in New Orleans.

Room Tip: We were in the eastern building on the second floor and in front so we had a street view from our ba...
