My husband and traveled from Florida to New Orleans to celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary and Halloween. We arrived in New Orleans a few days before Halloween weekend and spent 6 nights at Royal Street Courtyard. We were greeted by Phillip, who was extremely helpful in taking the time to recommend the best places to eat as well as sights of the area. As long as we dined at the places he recommended, the food was amazing! We strayed once - lesson learned, the food was terrible... so we stayed with his recommendations the remainder of the trip.
We absolutely loved the house and our room (room 10) was beautiful and cozy. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed having access to the upstairs balcony from our room. Our private bathroom was small and across the hall from our room, but more than adequate for our needs. We enjoyed using the jacuzzi out back one evening - so very relaxing. Breakfast was just enough to get us started for the day and hold us over until brunch or lunch (I loved the coffee!).
My husband and I loved the Artsy-Bohemian feel of Marigny and felt safe and comfortable walking through the neighborhood at all hours. Halloween weekend/night was a blast and we are so glad we were there to experience it!
Phillip and David were very pleasant, helpful hosts without being too invasive. My husband and I fell in love with the city of New Orleans and definitely want to make a trip back next year. When we do return, we will most definitely stay at Royal Street Courtyard again!

Room Tip: Loved room 10 with access to balcony

We stayed at R.S.C as part of our 'Deep South Honeymoon Roadtrip'. The owners Philip and David are 2 of the sweetest guys we've ever met. 2 really lovely guys who are willing to give 'local' advice without being 'in your face' - advise is given only if you ask for it!

We got on so well with Philip, that we spent many hours just sitting and chatting and more than anything, laughing!!! He kindly even drew us a map of the 9th ward, so that we could visit without the 'tacky tourist' element - totally heart-breaking but really puts things into perspective!

Despite being a big house, R.S.C manages to remain cosy and my favourite thing to do in the evening after returning home from a busy day, was sit on the porch rockers and watch the world go by (whilst also admiring the infamous 'bead tree' which is directly opposite R.S.C.

We stayed here in August 2010 and 14 months on, we still speak regularly to the owners! Will defintely return to R.S.C!

Room Tip: Ideally, stay in one of the rooms at the front of the house as the balcony is directly opposite the...

My husband and I had one night and day to visit New Oreleans. We booked this B&B because of the online reviews - and they're accurate! The B&B is in a beautiful home, very clean, comfortable and 5 minutes from the jazz on Frenchman street and the French quarter. We were greeted at the front gate, and they had prepared a map with all the food and drinks and places we had to see. Such great hospitality! The room was comfortable and the breakfast had a great selection. I would recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to experience New Orleans, and I'll stay again next time I go.

This was our first visit to New Orleans. Phillip was incredibly helpful and welcoming. Upon arrival, he gave us a map which he annotated with tips for the best places to eat, where to experience great music, and ways to make our stay in New Orleans easy, fun and memorable. Our hosts made us feel at home. The room was charming and comfortable. Although our bathroom was across the hall, it was private and easy to access. Nice terry cloth robes were provided. The location was in a lovely quiet neighborhood, but walking distance to the French Quarter and to the great jazz clubs on Frenchman street. We would definitely go back to the Royal courtyard when we return to New Orleans.

Room Tip: Room #10 has wonderful balcony overlooking Royal Street.

This is a great place to stay. Marigny is a great neighborhood--plenty to do within walking distance, charming architecture, but not elbow-to-elbow tourists like you'll get in the French Quarter. Philip had great recommendations for local food, music, etc. The place itself is full of crooked charm. Would be happy to return anytime. Thanks Philip!

I've stayed with Phillip and David twice and both stays have been perfect. These guys are gracious hosts and are always there to answer your questions and offer great suggestions on places to eat and fun things to do. They told me to try Cake Cafe and Cafe Nero (inside Who Dat coffee) and the food at both places was delicious. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. As the former governator says, "I will be back!"

This place is such a gem! Top-notch restaurants and jazz venues are within an easy walking distance. There's a hottub in the back courtyard, and high ceilings with ceiling fans and air conditioning in the rooms. It's very affordable. The best part, though, is being guided through your NOLA experience by proprietors Philip and David. Philip made elaborate notes on a city map for us, letting us know all of the best places to eat, the best places to listen to music, and what we should see. And we got a wonderful history of the city from David. We definitely want to come back, and next time we'll stay longer!
