My girlfriend and I (20s couple) stayed at House of the Rising sun the week before Jazz fest (apr 19 - 23) and really had a lovely time. Kevin was a fantastic host -- most knowledgable about the great places to eat and see music -- he recommended Frenchmen St for music, and it pretty much ended up being where we spent our whole trip -- an absolutely amazing scene. House of the Rising Sun is just across the river from the French Quarters in a very pretty, quiet neighborhood. It's just a few blocks from the free passenger ferry that runs every half hour, so you're really only minutes away from the rest of the city. But for the peacefulness of the nighttime to get a good night's rest, this is the place you want to be. We looked forward to our delicious breakfast every morning. It's overall just a very cozy, comfortable, hospitable, friendly environment in a lovely neighborhood and I would certainly recommend this to any couples staying in New Orleans for any length of time!

Discovered this great little B&B in Algiers Point. Didn't realize how close it was to everything. Neighborhood had lots of charm, even a British pub! Hosts were terrific, knowledgeable, and friendly. We were out and about each day until bedtime, but could have enjoyed ourselves with their books and music library. Lots of helpful tips on how to do Jazz Fest, as well as general New Orleans info...like where to get the best Sazarac! Comfortable and clean. Healthy breakfast, friendly dog. Would consider staying there again ,if we ever return to New Orleans, and why wouldn't we. Mike and Joanne Boston

I had a great stay at the House of the Rising Sun B&B - just a 5 minute ferry ride away from New Orleans. I was there for a conference. The B&B was very convenient, clean, comfortable, and the owners (Kevin and Wendy) were super nice and extremely hospitable. Breakfast was very good. Kevin shared some great tips for enjoying New Orleans as well as the Algiers area. As a person who appreciates good beer on tap, I sure enjoyed the evening at the Crown and Anchor pub down the street from the B&B (Kevin's suggestion). The folks at the pub are friendly and fun. There was a Dr. Who party that night. I can't wait to go back and bring my wife.

Thanks Kevin!

Lovely home in a very pretty area over the river from the mid city by free ferry. Kevin knows his music and is an easy going host. Breakfast at eight was a little early for us though. Fairly easy to get to.

My husband and I stayed at the House of the Rising Sun for 7 nights and are so glad we did. The hospitality was fantastic! Kevin and Wendy are wonderful hosts and gave us some great advice of what to see, where to eat and which bands to see at French Quarter Fest. The B&B is located in a beautiful old neighborhood a short walking distance from the free Ferry to NO. Room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was awesome. They also have the coolest dog called Boudin who is just adorable! We would highly recommend staying here to anyone traveling to New Orleans :)

GPS took us straight down Canal street to the Algiers ferry, which was a whole zero dollars to Algiers, one dollar back. The B&B was two blocks from the ferry landing, in a very historic neighborhood. I was very glad to park the car in front for the whole stay, ride the ferry back and forth to New Orleans to the conference center and restaurants. Kevin and Wendy were very nice, too bad I did not get to spend much time with them. They gave many helpful suggestions for things to do or places to eat. If you like a good pub, the Crown and Anchor is just a couple of blocks away, as is a very decent restaurant (Dry Dock Cafe) and wine bar. Way better than the overpriced New Orleans hotels. If you stay in the king room, you should realize your private bathroom is down the hall.

My wife and I stayed at the House of the Rising Sun for four nights during the French Quarter Fest. We picked the right place. This is a small B&B, family style in all ways. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The location was excellent, just a quick ferry ride from the heart of NO, and steps away from the music stages. The house is nestled in a very pretty community of small houses, some historic, most displaying the architectural features that New Orleans is known for. The breakfast was healthy and every morning the six guests (in 3 rooms) lingered at the table, drinking coffee, munching on croissants, sharing stories and experiences--all with the full participation of the hosts. If this wasn't enough to make our stay outstanding, the thoughtful advice of the hosts on where to eat, where to roam, and, most importantly of all, where to go at the Festival to find the best music, was graciously proffered with critical acumen. And if you want to know anything about Cajun history and people, just ask Wendy and you'll get a down-to-earth, intelligent account from a person who knows well from experience.
All in all, a great pleasure. Highly recommended.
