My girlfriend and I (20s couple) stayed at House of the Rising sun the week before Jazz fest (apr 19 - 23) and really had a lovely time. Kevin was a fantastic host -- most knowledgable about the great places to eat and see music -- he recommended Frenchmen St for music, and it pretty much ended up being where we spent our whole trip -- an absolutely amazing scene. House of the Rising Sun is just across the river from the French Quarters in a very pretty, quiet neighborhood. It's just a few blocks from the free passenger ferry that runs every half hour, so you're really only minutes away from the rest of the city. But for the peacefulness of the nighttime to get a good night's rest, this is the place you want to be. We looked forward to our delicious breakfast every morning. It's overall just a very cozy, comfortable, hospitable, friendly environment in a lovely neighborhood and I would certainly recommend this to any couples staying in New Orleans for any length of time!
