“Great neighborhood and close to the french quarter”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2012

My wife and I recently stayed at this B&B and found it to be clean and comfortable and a great choice overall. Its location on Algiers Point made it easy to get to from the french quarter and downtown NO using the free ferry. The neighborhood is quiet and has some good local restaurants. The owners are very nice and offer a much appreciated local perspective on everything the area has to offer.

Room Tip: If an adjoining bathroom is important, opt for the queen room.

Thank you Kevin and Wendy for opening your home and hearts during our stay in New Orleans. Our stay with you was joyful and warming. You run an aspiring B&B and were diligently attentive to our needs. It changed by perception of travel and the good that life is. It was hard to leave all the comfort you provided and the peaceful neighborhood and walk to the cruise terminal for our next leg of our travels. When we come back we will plan for a much longer stay and skip the cruise. Something we seriously thought about even this time.

Namaste and Love, Dave and Cathy

Room Tip: They are all equally comfortable and quiet.

I will never again stay in a hotel when my boyfriend and I go to New Orleans thanks to Kevin and Wendy! Super friendly folks and a home with a ton of CHARM. They made us feel so comfortable and the house was perfect, especially the bed! The most comfortable bed I've ever slept on! Could have slept all day in it....Thank you Kevin and Wendy (and Boudin too) for a trip that I will never forget. We will be back very soon!!

I was recently in New Orleans for a few days of relaxatiion, and stayed at the House of the Rising Sun B&B. This is my second stay with Wendy and Kevin, and I must say, If there is a perfect lodging experience, this is it!! After my first visit with them I no longer shop for lodging accommodations, I just contact Kevin. When I plan a New Orleans visit, I look forward to The House of the Rising Sun at least as much as seeing the beautiful city. I could write pages about this establishment but in short I will say that the rooms are large, very clean, and well appointed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is flawless. Kevin even provided a tire pump when I had a flat on my bike! The neighborhood is quiet, historically scenic, and exclusively "New Orleans". There's no feeling like walking out the front door of this place into the still morning, with the rays of sun breaking between the buildings, and hearing the distant sounds of ships navigating down the Mississppi River, and knowing the French Quarter is only moments away. I highly recommend this lodging to any and everyone. I want to say thanks so much, Kevin and Wendy, and I hope there'll be a room left for me!!!

Our stay at House of the Rising Sun B&B was perfect. Kevin and Wendy are very down to earth and their home is extremely inviting. The house is set in historic Algiers Point just across the river from downtown New Orleans. We parked our vehicle upon arrival and never had to drive again until we departed. The ferry to downtown New Orleans is just a short walking distance from the B&B and was no trouble accessing day or night even during the BCS National Championship weekend while we there. The Dry Dock cafe right near the ferry entrance was excellent to dine and drink at if you just wanted to spend a quiet evening by staying in Algiers rather than fight the hussle and bussle of the city. It's amazing how as soon as you come back from the city to Algiers Point how much life slows down and the tranquility of the historic district puts you at ease. My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensly and hope to be back sooner than later. Thanks again to Kevin & Weny & Boudin for making our stay one to remember.

We had a really nice time in NOLA, very much thanks to Kevin and Wendy who gave us lots of advice where to find good music.
The place is situated in Algiers Point which is both quiet and interesting. A quick trip with the ferry takes you to the French Quarters.

We had a great stay at the House of the Rising Sun. Kevin and Wendy were very friendly and gave us great advice about places to go in New Orleans - including a really wonderful cafe we'd have never found otherwise. As it is outside of the French Quarter, it is also a great way to escape the madness for a little while, before heading back out again.
