“perfect for lunch on the balcony!”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

My fiance and I had time to kill before the Gator pep rally (GO GATORS!) so we walked around looking for a cool place for lunch and drinks and stumbled upon the Chartres House. We were seated right away upstairs on the balcony. Our server, who was exhausted from working 24 hrs over NYE, was still super friendly and service was great. Had the muffelatta, it was delicious. Good N.O. style food. I would definitely go back for lunch.

The food and atmosphere was great. Staff was helpful and the pario area with the fountain a great atmosphere. Too much to eat but enjoyed every bite.

“Corner Cafe with great food”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

We were looking for a late lunch and happened upon this inviting cafe with their doors/windows open and the host waiting to greet us. There were a few people at the bar and the surrounding tables. After looking at the menu we realized it was very similar to the menu at the Original Pierre Maspero's which we had eaten lunch at the day before. Apparently they are run by the same people. We wanted to try aligator on this trip and lucky for us it was on the menu. We also had the duck Quesidillas. Of course the aligator was fried and tasted similar to chicken! The duck appetizer was 3 small triangles of lightly fried pastry filled with a creamy inside. While I couldn't honestly taste much duck, it was really good and a very light meal. We also enjoyed 2 cocktails off their menu which were unique and tasty. The server was new but got our order right and the food all came out hot and drinks were cold. I'd return on my next visit to NOLA.

“The Best Bloody Mary in NOLA”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

Stop by in the morning to get their infused vodka bloody mary and you will not be disappointed. The atmosphere is great for people watching in the middle of the French Quarter. One of my favorite stops whenever I am in New Orleans.
