“The Very Best”
Reviewed May 11, 2010

We recently bought a timeshare at La Pension - sight unseen - and it was one of the best things we have ever done. Just spend a week there in April and everything was perfect. We stayed in room 302 which is a two bedroom, one and one-half bath and it was well appointed, clean and had a decent view. The bed was soft, the shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The applicances in the kitchen area were clean and well maintained. The hot tub upstairs is very nice. There is a computer in the lobby where you can print your boarding passes for your flight back - a nice feature. The best part of La Pension are the employees - Charmane on the firont desk is WONDERFUL - I hope she never leaves - she is just super, friendly, helpful, and has a great personality. All the employees went out of their way to help us and make sure we had a good time. I can hardly wait until we get to go back next year. Just the best!!!!

115 Decature is the pecfect location. Right in the center of your multiple excursions. Far enough from the noisy Bourbon St. if you want to sleep at night!
Definitely outdated suites, at least ours was. Updates or renovations are needed to make it more enjoyable. If your suite is located at the back, expect to have as a view a big concrete wall from the only one window in the suite located in the bedroom! So, not a lot of light shinning threw. Staff members are great and very helpful. Daily room service (bed, change of towels, garbage pick-up) which is great. Overall we were content to stay there.

Stayed here via RCI, nice old building, no frills, good kitchen and staff, free washer/dryer, hot tubs on the roof should be used, great way to relax after a long day of seeing the sights. Walking distance to casino, Bourbon St, transportation. Must do's: start with French Quarter visitor center in Jackson Square. Get all your pamphlets and magazines here on the first day. Great staff for answering all questions. , they are great there and know their stuff, take the St Charles st. trolley round trip, stop at the WWII Museum a must, took a 3 hr. Celebration Tours van for seeing the whole city, 9th Ward, cemeteries, City Park, etc great way to see the whole city, take a Cajon cooking class School of Cooking 524 St Louis st A+, French Market, if you drive parking is very expensive near hotel, used cheap/safe parking garage at hospital and took cheap trolley back to hotel or gamble 1/2 hour at casino, get voucher and stay the day for free. Food is the best, find specials (happy hours, discount times, etc) Bourbon St is what you make of it, we took in the blues and jazz joints, must see: Big Al Carson at Funky Pirate on Bourbon, be sure to hit Fishermens St where the locals hang out, if you're into art, there are lots of local studeos, antiques, etc Best of all are the locals, they are so proud of their city and appreciate the visitors, found the city safer, cleaner, and more organized than expected. We will definately be back

What luck! We made our reservations last summer for the week of Mar 6 to the 12. Little did we know at the time that we would not only be there for the parades, but also for the Super Bowl.Watched the game at the sports bar, Viola, less then a block from La Pension. There sure was joy in N.O. when the Saints won
The Pension was located in a perfect spot is easily walk to the parades. the staff at the condo was wonderful. Rooms were a little small, esp. when the murphy bed was down. In fact, placing a bed that when down does not allow for exit from the only door is questionable as violation of code? The airport pickup service that the hotel recommended, Global, had great service . Pictures of La Pension on the internet are a little misleading as all pictures show rooms with balconies when actually I beleive of all the rooms they have ,only 2 have balconies.
Had a wonderful time and came home with tons of beads.

We spent the weekend here. It is so close to everything - valet parking is so worth the money. We were in #507 - room was recently updated - efficiently appointed - stove, fridge, dishwasher, jetted tub, safe. Love the windows. Room could use some new paint - chair marks - finger dirt around middle of room. Staff was so friendly and SOOOOO helpful.

First the good. The service was impeccable. Abundant clean towels everyday, a super-friendly, helpful front desk staff, even the cab driver who shuttles you from the airport and back was a gem. Big whirlpool tub, tiny but efficient and convenient kitchen, comfy bed.

Here's the bad. The noise level was out of control. The 3rd floor room was adjacent to a small side street where cab drivers waited to pick up folks at the Marriott. That meant horns honking at all hours and shouting. Trash pickup at 4am felt like a wrecking ball was about to take down the walls. And the two inch gap under the front door meant you could hear every conversation in the hallway. Don't expect to get any sleep.

Overall, it was actually a comfy stay. Felt like having a small apartment (albeit one in Queens. NY). Can't say enough about the staff. They made the week a good one.

We traded part of our Timeshare to stay here for Southern Decadence on Labor Day Weekend. The staff was very nice, the rooms were ok. They need to be updated a bit. The place is very close to all the attractions in New Orleans. Couldn't ask to be any closer. We had the one bedroom unit and our friends stayed on the Murphy bed in the living area. They had no complaints. Housekeeping was great! They were there everyday to take the trash out and exchange the towels, or whatever else we needed. We had a blast and enjoyed staying here. We would stay here again.
