Description: Luke New Orleans is Besh's homage to the grand old Franco-German brasseries that once reigned in New Orleans. Luke offers an extensive French, German, and Belgian beer selection, including three exclusive house brews [custom-made in Louisiana]. The cuisine is unaffectedly Old World, using slow and traditional cooking techniques. The wine list features reds and whites from the Loire, Alsace, and Savoie regions, as well as Badischerwiens of Germany. Since opening in 2007, Luke has been hailed by Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and The Times-Picayune Lagniappe, which awarded Luke an impressive three bean-ranking for its "disarmingly home-spun culinary touches and broad-shouldered dishes that satisfy something more than just an appetit."

“Fun Happy Hour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

Went after work with a few coworkers. During Happy Hour there is half price wine and cheap oysters. I did not eat the oysters, but everyone else in the group raved about how good they were. The wine selection was limited for the Happy Hour selection, but the ones we tried were all fairly good.

We had to visit a John Besh restaurant while in New Orleans and chose Luke. We were not disappointed! The crawfish bisque is amazing and great shrimp and grits!

“Room service poor meal”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

Our first night in Hilton we ordered room service from the in house restaurant Luke.
Service was fast and the guy was very happy and cheerful.
Hubby's burger and huge fries were great. However my chicken was undercooked and bloody!!
They said it would be taken off bill which we haven't seen yet, and we def got the impression it's not the first complaint they've had with the room service food.

Not a great start!!!

“Not what we imagined”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013

First, it was hard to find this place - it is in what appears to be a business district that is pretty deserted at night. Second, the restaurant was empty...With the famed chef, I thought we'd have lots of company. Third, the food was not what we expected to find in NOLA, though it was good. It was more influenced by the German immigration to New Orleans, which is legitimate, yet not a particularly well-known fact. My husband ordered a lamb shank with sauerkraut that was really good, but fatty. The sauerKraut was sweetened with apples ( Nice touch!) A huge portion, we had left overs to share the next day.

“Holy happy hour horseradish!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2013 via mobile

We stopped in for the happy hour oysters & beer & were not disappointed! We loved the super hot fresh horseradish served with our raw oysters as well as the locally brewed beer to wash it down. The staff behind the bar was pleasant & chatty.
