14th time to new orleans since 1999. We have stayed in 14 differant places from the nicest hotel to the crappiest dump. The chateau orleans wasn't the fanciest or newest, but as far as french quarter lodging goes, it was awesome. We stayed for 7 nights and had a great time. Both my wife and i would reccomend it to anyone who is going to the quarter to relax and have fun. Easy parking, interesting neighborhood, off the beaten path, not for the naive teetotaller. Have a bunch of drinks, meet new people, enjoy the best city in the world!

My girlfriends and I had read mixed reviews so we were nervous about our decision to stay at the Chateau Orleans. I am glad that we did not change our plans because it was great! Our room was not ready when we arrived (10am), but our luggage was safely held and after lunch we found all of our luggage neatly placed in our condo. The rooms were large, the beds were comfortable and the linens were changed daily. A full kitchen was in the living area as well as a fold out couch bed. We had five people in the condo and we were completely comfortable. The location (Burgundy and Bienville) is perfect for exploring the city and enjoying the night life. It can be loud at night, but that is going to happen anywhere in the French Quarter. I am not sure why people in other reviews complain about parking. There is a HUGE garage on the same block (literally behind the Chateau Orleans) and they charge reasonable prices for overnight parking. There is also a loading/ unloading area specifically for the Bourbon Orleans. I would absolutely recommend staying here next time you visit NOLA!!

PS) They also offer free donuts and bloody marys (poolside) on the weekends.

Stayed for five nights at Chateau Orleans with a timeshare trade from Interval. Arrived very late and night and the door code and keys worked fine. We were originally on the ground level with the bedroom facing the street--not the best spot to be the week before Mardi Gras. We switched to the fourth floor walk-up penthouse one bedroom. It was nice and comfortable--reminded me of a cabin in the French Quarter. The units have a mini-kitchen with two burners, a decent size one bedroom with queen bed and a pull out. Nothing fancy but very quaint for New Orleans. The fourth floor was a bit much to walk up but after a few days you get used to it. The city view is very nice on four--reminded me of London. They also have wifi but you have to sit down by the pool area which makes a great morning to sit and read the email or facebook while enjoying a cafe. They also have several newspapers delivered and are first come first serve.

On Saturday and Sunday, they have coffee, bloody mary's and donuts at the pool. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful with any questions.

During our stay, we visited two plantations (after renting a car at Enterprise about six blocks down on Canal St.). We visited Laura Plantation and Oak Alley Plantation--makes a great day out of the city. Also saw four Mardi Gras parades including Barkus with over 1,000 dogs.

Chateau Orleans is a great place to trade to in the French Quarter. Definitely recommend it for a fun time enjoying NO.

The plumbing leaves a lot to be desired. The tap in the kitchenette drips. The cold tap in the bathroom has broken stops so you have to fool with it to get it turned off. A permanent sign says that the whirlpool is out of order. (Why not fix it?) There is a sign on the stair railing saying "caution loose railing". (Again, why not fix it?)
We had a plugged toilet at 8PM in the evening. We attempted to call the front desk and got an answering service. She called us back and gave a number to get into the key box so we could use the toilet down the hall because no one wanted to bring us a plunger.
Even Motel 8 mans the front desk 24 hours a day.

No parking do not park near front . Parked there afteCrapr my friend had parked my truck in no parking zone all night got up and moved down street just a few feet upon request of maintenance man went back to chateau to get coffee and go back only to see my window was knocked out and all luggage stolen I think this is a set up area with these people all working together I was away from truck less than 10 minutes I believe people in buildings across street watch for people loading luggage and the minute ur back is turned they simply walk out and knock ur windows out easy get away for them. Did I mention this was at 10am in broad daylight then a week later I got a ticket in mail from no police for parking violation they don't bother to put ticket on windshield they just ride by police don't give a s!!!!

Condo was lacking but convenient to Bourbon St. and a parking deck. Loved the Funky 544 for dancing at night. If you have time, drive out to the plantations; they are lovely. Enjoy the food; there are soo many excellent restuarants from which to choose. Ask the locals if you want the best. Ride the trolley, visit the cemetaries, and find time for the WWII museaum.

We stayed the week before Easter in the little carriage house at the back of the complex which was a stand alone, two story, one-bedroom unit that was fabulous. The weatther was not good enough to swim but we did sit out on the terrace. This place is within walking distance of everything. The staff is extremely helpful including the housekeeping staff.
Doesn't look like much from the outside but very charming once you get inside. Free coffee every morning on the terrace. No staff after 5:00 so get your info early. They were nice enought to print our boarding passes for us the day we left.
