Stayed for a week and it was perfect for a long stay. There was three of us (sisters annual getaway trip). Loved taking the ferry over to the French Quarter and even Lyft was inexpensive. I found that Lyft was better than Uber on the Algiers side for pick up and rates. Mark and Angelia were the best. Highly recommend taking their magazine st food tour! It was really fun and yummy!
Note that there is only one shower/tube but two toilets and sinks. We made it work.
Really enjoyed walking the neighborhood after a day of sightseeing. And the house was very clean and comfortable.
Highly recommend their place if you’re looking for an air BnB!
Madison Touriste was a fabulous place to stay. We were warmly welcomed by our hosts and given wonderful advice anytime we asked. The house itself was like a home away from home. The location was perfect. Close enough to the city, but quaint in its neighborhood across the river. We definitely plan on returning!!
Nice place. Good location in a quite neighborhood. Located close to the ferry and some interesting and good restaurants.
Our stay at Maison Touriste, a spacious, 2 bedroom apartment in the quiet Algiers Point section, was excellent. Angela and Mark are very accommodating since they have thought about everything you could possibly need. And if there is something you need that they didn’t think of, they will get it for you.
Three blocks from MT is a five minute, very convenient ferry ride that takes you to the downtown area. It is an economical ($2 one way) and relaxing ride where you can barge and ship watch. We were very lucky since we saw a naval ship flanked by sailors on the that was arriving for Fleet Week.
Once you arrive on Canal St. you can walk to the Aquarium, the Natchez for the river cruise down the Mississippi River or simply continue walking to the French Market or the French Quarters. We loved walking to the many different stores and restaurants. There is also a trolley that you can use to get to many of the areas in downtown NOLA.
Our stay on th Pointe was great. Just happened to be the coldest weather that New Orleans has seen in 20 years. Angela was very accommodating and keep did her best to insure pure comfort. Would book again if we decide to return
The location was perfect. Just minutes from the French Quarter but in a wonderful quiet neighborhood. Would stay here again
This beautiful home was perfect. It is a short walk to the ferry that takes you across the river in a few minutes. We were able to enjoy everything NOLA has to offer then sleep in quiet comfort.
Mark met us the first day. He was welcoming and willing to work with our checkin time although we weren't sure exactly when it would be.
The home was amazing! It was spotless and beautifully rehabbed. Angela and Mark had anticipated our every need. There were snacks, drinks, condiments and a fridge with filtered water and ice which was perfect for quick hydration. There were plenty of toiletries, towels, laundry detergent, a washer and a dryer. I was anxious about being able to sleep in the south with the humidity and heat in an historic home, but the air conditioner worked wonderfully. We were all quite comfortable.
Mark and Angela's attention to detail is what makes staying in their home a superior choice over a hotel or some of the other homes I viewed on Trip Advisor and the other two sites I researched. One thing they had was a notebook that had restaurant menus and other places of interest. We referred to it often. The little breakfast cafe they listed served the best food we ate in all of NOLA. They were also available for our questions but weren't intrusive.
We will recommend this rental to our family and friends and will return if Angela and Mark will have us.
