Our hosts took care of every detail and were extremely helpful in suggesting restaurants, music venues and how to get places. Their home was clean, well stocked and convenient with a great breakfast restaurant just steps away. Parking in the French Quarter is very expensive and staying on Algiers Point saved us a lot of money by taking the ferry. We were 2 couples and their home was perfect for us.
The location is a ferry trip away from downtown NOLA. We had all the comforts of home including coffee maker, coffee, bottled water, tea and snacks. The beds and pillows are comfortable. Mark and Angela are hospitable always asking if we needed anything. We are impressed with the updated renovations and cleanliness of the Vacation Rental. We will definitely stay again.
Staying in the Algiers Point neighborhood was a great decision for the four of us. It was a 5 minute walk to the ferry each day and it let us out on Canal street with access to anywhere in the city. Angela and Mark were fantastic! They have a tour company, NO SECRETS TOURS, which we took part in. Angela gave us their Cocktail and history tour and it was definitely one of the highlights of our visit. There are so many choices when visiting New Orleans. It was nice to have Mark and Angela for some ideas of their own on where to eat, drink, hear music etc. The neighborhood of Algiers Point has lots of charm. We enjoyed tasting and drinking our way around this up and coming place.
The house is located within walking distance of restaurants, pubs and the ferry to New Orleans. HUGE points for being able to stroll around this lovely little neighborhood.
The hosts are tour guides and we could not have asked for more welcoming, helpful information.
The house - oh the HOUSE. What can I say? All the amenities we modern travelers need, with the old-world and historic charm left in place.
We enjoyed coffee on the porch, breakfast around the corner, great seafood down the street. And that was BEFORE taking the ferry into NOLA.
How nice to be able to come back to our quiet little spot and rest up for the next adventure in the big city.
