“Lots of Bar, but fewer frat boys than Bourbon!”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

Still a great place to go party in New Orleans, but didn't find it to be as obnoxious as Bourbon can get late at night. Found plenty of places with great drinks and live music!

“Best for music”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

If you are expecting authentic New Orleans music-Jazz and Blues-this is the place. Much less populated than Bourbon and not such a young crowd. It is a smaller area of concentrated bars that offer the best music. We were referred there by a number of locals and they were right. It's a short walk outside of the french quarter and the street completely safe.

“Music Music Music”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

This is a great little street with many bars and restaurants. The Spotted Cat is small, but the bands really pack a punch. Across the road, d.b.a. has live music as well. We went to both these bars two nights in a row and enjoyed 4 different bands. Both excellent venues.

“Fun bars but stay alert at night”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

Frenchmen Street is a great place to hit some cool bars and listen to some terrific live music. Stay alert to your surroundings as there are a bunch of strange individuals loitering around. Women, do not go down to Frenchmen Street at night by yourself, stay with a group.

“live music”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

Frenchman Street is a row of live music experiences. It is a wonderful alternative to Bourbon Street cover bands. The music calendars are posted on the windows of all establisments. Up and coming jazz musicians showcase their talents early with headliners coming on much later. There is something for everyone, every night. There are also restaurants and shops to enjoy. We walk here from the French Quarter.
