Avoid Bourbon st. at night and just come here!! Bars have no cover, the music is AMAZING, drinks are cheap... jump around, or just find a spot and stay grounded and watch all the bands that come through. I'm ready to move here.

You'll love Frenchman Street! Great little restaurants, bars, music, atmosphere... and a truly wonderful little Artists' Alley next door to the Spotted Cat! We went on two different evenings and were pleased to see some different artists in place each night! So many wonderful things to choose from! Art, photos, scarves and hats, jewelry, masks, and yes, even chicken foot voodoo type charms! Music, seating, great people to talk to..... GO!

The true sounds and tastes of New Orleans have migrated to Frenchmen Street. This street is loaded with great little jazz clubs (Spotted Cat, Maison, d.b.a., Three Muses, etc.) and some amazing restaurants. You could easily spend a week bouncing around these few blocks and not exhaust the diversity of music and food. The place is also a favorite among New Orleans hipsters ... horn-rimmed glasses and fixie bikes abound.

If you're in the mood for good live jazzy, you get your pick here! They have countless jazz bars with performers every night of the week!

There are new bars and restaurants coming to Freenchmen Street. Not loud and rowdy like Bourbon Street. Much more calm, laid back atmosphere with nice lodging, restaurants and finest jazz bands New Orleans has to offer. Unless your young, single or college age forget Bourbon Street and enjoy this relaxed area of New Orleans.
