A reservation does not guarantee seating in the courtyard but we will have a table available inside our beautiful, historic carriage house. We normally allow reservation space for only 50% of the dining room to accommodate walk-ins. Additionally, in order to accommodate all of our guests who are waiting to be seated, we are only able to seat your party once everyone has arrived. Nestled in the historic 150-year-old Princess of Monaco Courtyard and Carriage House on Royal Street in the French Quarter, Cafe Amelie is a rare combination of superb Louisiana fare served in a lush, enchanting New Orleans courtyard setting. Cafe Amelie has a full bar offering an array of signature cocktail creations. Cafe Amelie and the accompanying Princess of Monaco Courtyard are also available for private parties, weddings and receptions.

“Charming”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

What a charming place that's on a quiet part of Royal. We had small plates and dessert on a cold night in April and all of our bites were delicious. The crab cake and shrimp & grits were perfectly executed. We would go back in a heartbeat. Next time it'll be warm outside and we can take advantage of the beautiful courtyard!

“Excellent European-style fine dining in fantastic location”
Reviewed April 19, 2013 via mobile

We, a family of seven ages 5 to 67, came across this tucked away little gem completely by accident. Entering through a charming courtyard, we were seated inside next to open French doors. Service was quick, appropriately present when needed, and the food excellent. Prices were a bit stiff, but not unreasonable considering the quality and presentation if the food, and the wonderful ambiance of the locale.

We were all happy as clams when we finished and went back to our hotel. The Cafe Amelie was a wonderful surprise, and the food a nice change from all the deep fried and/or sloppy food you get everywhere in the south.

We were there with our 5-year-old, and that worked fine. However, I would not call this a family restaurant. It's perfect for romantic dates, and for others looking for a fine dining experience in the otherwise noisy and gritty French Quarter.

“Great for Brunch”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

I stopped by Cafe Amelie with some friends in late March for brunch. The atmosphere was great, and I enjoyed sitting outside in their small courtyard. The menu had unique and interesting choices as well as some traditional items. The house drink menu also had a great selection of signature cocktails as well. This is a great little place, and I would definitely drop by again when I am in New Orleans.

“Locals Take-away and Cuisine Rapide!”
Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

You know you are living right in the heart of New Orleans when you can order take-out from a very excellent place or eat it with friends and family in a gorgeous courtyard. The chef and the front of house staff spoil us beyond reason. To add glee to our contentment, they are opening a bodega style wine and pret a manger at the corner. Ahh, splendiferous!

“A Hidden Gem ... and a Wonderful Gastronomic Memory”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

The combination of "lovely food expertly prepared and serviced, informed and attentive servers and beautiful ambiance" made this restaurant the highlight of our dining experiences I. New Orleans. Al Fresco dining in the Courtyard is an extra romantic treat -- especially after sunset for the soft lighting and shadows soften the already attractive location. The menu is indeed small but EVERY dish that my wife and I sampled and shared (we ate here twice during our two-week volunteer stint with Habitat for Humanity) was superb. If you can request him as your server, ask for Wade. Our two visits were wonderful -- we've no comprehension of how anyone could find fault with this restaurant. Go and be prepared to be delighted!
