“Good food, charming atmosphere”
Reviewed February 25, 2013 via mobile

This restaurant includes a lovely courtyard. Sadly, it was very chilly the night when we were here so we chose to eat inside, which was comfortable and nicely decorated. The house drinks were terrific; try one. Mine mixed tequila with a satsuma orange liquor; excellent. The pickled beet salad was very good, as were the Brussels sprouts with dates (an imaginative combination that worked). I had a vegetarian dish that night, but there are several meat and fish choices. My dish was spinach and tomatoes over grits; fresh and tasty. Dessert was a disappointment. The dark cherry pie was done with puff pastry; a conventional crust would have been better. Good wine list.

“meh for brunch”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

It was coldy and rainy the Sunday we had brunch here. The super charming patio was closed, and their tiny indoor space was slammed. I had to refill my own coffee several times from the credenza next to our table, which was convenient for me but not for the rest of the Cafe. I was dying for shrimp and grits, but had to have a muffaletta because they were out. My husband was quiet pleased with the banana waffles. Overall, the service wasn't great. The food was acceptable. The decor was quaint.

“Excellent appetizers ”
Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

We stopped by for dinner and ended up trying just about every appetizer on the menu. The creole poutine was my favorite (better than the one I had in Montreal) but the shrimp, crayfish pie, and brussels sprouts were were good as well. This restaurant also has a beautiful garden area but we ate inside because it was a bit chilly.

“Charming atmosphere! delicious food!”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

This is charming, casual and has a perfect New Orleans atmosphere The food is delicious! There are plenty of vegetable options This has more of a brunch/lunch feel; but would be great for a lw key dinner great for adults Service is a 'relaxed pace'. Even if you eat indoors all tables have nice outdoor views

“Nice restaurant”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

We ate here recently on a Friday night. It was an enjoyable meal but nothing spectacular.

The restaurant has a beautiful courtyard but on this night it was quite chilly so we chose to eat indoors. Even there the downstairs tables are all open to a draft from the open door so it isn't warm on a cold night.

The food was nice. We had a soup and the gumbo for starters. For mains the pork was nice but a little overcooked.

Overall a nice meal but there are lots of good options in New Orleans
