Description: Please note that the courtyard is seated on a first come, first serve basis. A reservation does not guarantee seating in the courtyard but we will have a table available inside our beautiful, historic carriage house. We normally allow reservation space for only 50% of the dining room to accommodate walk-ins. Additionally, in order to accommodate all of our guests who are waiting to be seated, we are only able to seat your party once everyone has arrived. Nestled in the historic 150-year-old Princess of Monaco Courtyard and Carriage House on Royal Street in the French Quarter, Cafe Amelie is a rare combination of superb Louisiana fare served in a lush, enchanting New Orleans courtyard setting. Cafe Amelie has a full bar offering an array of signature cocktail creations. Cafe Amelie and the accompanying Princess of Monaco Courtyard are also available for private parties, weddings and receptions.

We ate here recently on a Friday night. It was an enjoyable meal but nothing spectacular.

The restaurant has a beautiful courtyard but on this night it was quite chilly so we chose to eat indoors. Even there the downstairs tables are all open to a draft from the open door so it isn't warm on a cold night.

The food was nice. We had a soup and the gumbo for starters. For mains the pork was nice but a little overcooked.

Overall a nice meal but there are lots of good options in New Orleans

Food/drinks were fantastic and the outdoor courtyard made for a great atmosphere. Prices may seem a little high, but you get what you pay for. Food servings are ample, and the lunch sandwiches are HUGE! Enjoy this quiet little gem of NO!

We were introduced to Cafe Amelie by friends who live in the French Quarter and really enjoyed the visit. The patio and interior are charming and the service was excellent. We had a bread basket brought to the table with plenty of butter, but the rolls and corn muffins were not hot. The rolls were good, but would have been better warm. I had a lamb shank with fresh pasta that was really terrific. The beet salad was also excellent. My husband had the duck, which he also enjoyed. The Mardi Gras doberge cake for dessert was good - but very rich. I would advise sharing it. We will certainly return and on a nice day we hope to eat in the patio and enjoy the atmosphere outside.

Just had my first dining experience at cafe Amelie on Sunday evening! We had a party of eight and everyone had a pleasant, relaxing time! Our server was terrific! I had a delicious salad with pecans, blue cheese, apple, and grapes plus the small plate shrimp and grits. We shared a piece of Mardi Gras doberge cake for dessert. Incredible! Look forward to going again soon. It is difficult to find a good place to eat on Sunday nights but happily, this restaurant is open.
