“terrific find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2011

We had a fabulous time in New Orleans thanks to the Lion's Inn B&B. We loved the Margininy location, the bicycles which we used constantly, the lovely pool area, Floyd, our fine room next to the pool, and meeting the other guests. It's a very relaxed atmosphere yet nice and clean... and pet friendly. The folks we met said they had been coming to NOLA for years and only after no vacancy at their usually preferred B&B's did they fortunately discover The Lion's Inn. Now they won't go back to any of the other places. We felt so lucky to have found this place on our first visit to this wonderful city. Terrific folks, great location, lovely setting, clean as can be, low key, and no one else has bikes and pet friendly accomodations. Book early...it's a find.

My husband and I stayed at the Lions Inn from Christmas Day until New Years Day. We obviously came in on the tail end of a Christmas party and were warmly welcomed and offered food and drink. Every evening at 5 pm there was a "happy hour" with wine and assorted snacks and the wonderful company of other guests. This was an excellent way to unwind after long days of sightseeing! Floyd was a gracious host, full of information about the city, and just an interesting person to get to know. We were pleased with the location --- just a few blocks from the French Quarter but far enough away for a good night's sleep. The free use of bicycles made exploring the city so much easier and the breakfasts, while not fancy, were enough to get us started each day. We would definitely return to the Lions Inn in the future.

Came to New Orleans for New Year's Eve and stayed at the Lions Inn for 4 nights. Staff was great and friendly. Wine and cheese at 5pm was excellent and enjoyable. Very close to frenchman street and about 15 minute walk to french quarter. Would definitely stay there again.

The host was extremely friendly and joked constantly. Even the host's neighbors and friends would come around and be just as friendly! We were offered food and beverages at all hours of the day regardless of rules/guidelines previously discussed. The rooms were very clean and homey-feeling and had gorgeous furniture. The bathrooms were as clean as a whistle as well! The courtyard was beautiful and showcased both an in-ground pool and a hot tub!!
I will without a doubt be staying at the Lions Inn Bed & Breakfast every single time I visit. :D

If you enjoy spending your $$ on great food and shopping rather than for expensive hotels where you spend so little time...this place is for you. Exceptional value. Kind and info packed owner. Nice grounds and interesting up-and-coming neighborhood just 4 short blocks from French Quarter. Very safe in a friendly neighborhood. Just one block away from wonderful bakery/sandwich shop where the food is not only excellent...but is busy all day with folks from the neighborhood. Frenchman Street nearby is filled with music of all kinds...a throwback to what people say the French Quarter itself was like about 40 years ago before it got commercialized. No downside to this place. Garden and pool area is quite beautiful. B&B's are not for everyone...but for those who recognize quality...the Lion's Inn has it. (Airport Shuttle gets you within 4 short blocks of B&B) . Sure, you walk a little further...but then that means you can eat more. :)

We were in town for a family reunion with our 2 teenagers and mini-dachshund. We chose The Lions Inn for 3 reasons. 1. It is close to the French Quarter 2. It is reasonably priced and 3. they are pet-friendly.
We stayed in Room C, a comfortable, spacious room with a large bathroom. We found Floyd, the owner, to be a very gracious host who made us all, including our dog, feel welcome.
It says something about a place when leaving it is hardest part. We had wished for a few more days at Lions Inn and look forward to our return.

I booked a condo through Floyd and his staff in Feb. 2010 for a quick weekend trip. Once we arrived in New Orleans the commotion that ensued in getting us to the condo was unreal. The condo was nice though, so I blew it off thinking that surely it would not happen again. Wrong! I booked an apartment for my husband and I and some members of our family for another quick weekend trip in Oct. 2010. Leading up to our arriva,l I emailed several times back and forth with the manager, Ed, and also spoke to Floyd on the phone the Friday before our arrival. When members of our group arrived the apartment was already occupied, Floyd said he had no idea we were coming despite the fact that we had pre-paid for that night on our credit card the Friday before, and they were down right rude to us. My husband and I are from Lafayette. We usually try to get to New Orleans a few times a year as a get away to spend time together without our three small children. The last thing I wanted to do when I got to New Orleans was deal with all of this. Obviously Floyd does not keep a clear record of who is staying with him and when, no clear communication with his manager Ed, nor does he have good business ethics. I was insulted and lied to both times I stayed at his properties. We will NEVER use them again! Horrible Experience!
