“What a gem! If it were closer to the quarter it would be a perfect 10!”
Reviewed March 29, 2014

This hotel is fantastic! We stayed on the first floor, the room had large windows, and looked out on a small alley street, but we never once heard any noise or trucks as some have stated. It was the perfect room, plenty of space to spread out with my two kids, we stayed during St. Patricks day holiday and it was superb. The staff was amazing, from the moment we pulled up, all the way through check out. The morning breakfast was superb with a different selection every day, the staff here was really out of this world. The hotel is top notch. I have absolutely nothing bad to say. The only thing I wish is that this hotel was closer to the center of french quarter. It is about 1/2 mile walk. It was difficult, especially after a long day of sightseeing the last thing you want to do is walk that last mile. If you could take the hotel and staff and drop it closer to the french quarter, it would be superb.

Room Tip: Stay on the first floor, the ceilings are 16 feet, the windows are superb.

We stayed 1 night before, and 2 nights after our cruise. We liked the friendly staff, from valet, check in, concierge, and the staff in the dining area of the complimentary breakfast, which had a good selection. The lady that worked in the dining room was always cheery and when it was busy she worked hard to replenish everything. When we arrived from our cruise, we checked our bags with the valet, and we talked to Vallerie,(concierge), about booking a swamp tour. She was very helpful and informative, the check in clerk took our cell number to let us know when our room would become available. We arrived early on Sunday and we had time to kill. So we booked the swamp tour vallerie suggested, it was a great tour, my family and I had a fun time on the boat. When we came back the room was ready, I requested a room away from the elevator ( after reading some of the reviews here ).
The hotel is an older remodeled building. We liked the close proximity to the french quarter, the trams, and also to the cruise ship terminal, we actually walked there and back, which was about six blocks away.
I had arranged with the valet to have a taxi called for us for 6:45 am on the day we were leaving for the airport. All the staff at the hotel was very courteous and helpful, and that's what stood out for us with our stay at this property.

I have really enjoyed my stay at Comfort Inn and Suites! It is really close to everything we wanted to do/see in NOLA. It is in a historic building, so it has some interesting features. The continental breakfast is really good- waffles, eggs, sausage, bagels, oatmeal, cereals, fruit and yogurt, coffee, and juice. The rooms are nice and clean.

I was able to find a deal through a foreign travel website (thomascook.de) to get the room for 140/night, so that made it well worth it for me. On most of the typical US hotel discount sites the rooms were listed for over 200/night. So it pays to look around for a good deal!

Hotel is walking distance to all the action yet quiet enough to get some rest.
Front desk staff gave us wonderful dining recommendation.
Concierge seemed knowledgeable of New Orleans but not as much about the rest or Louisiana.

Glad to hear you had a great time staying with us. As you mention, the location really is perfect for visiting the city. Just about everything is within walking distance, but you still get a nice quiet place to come home to at the end of the day! We hope to see you again soon!

A birthday trip to New Orleans with my wife. An "adult" vacation, just the two of us. In the city for food, drink, music and getting away from a long winter in DC...it snowed the day before we left, on St. Patricks Day, and we got almost 8 inches. ( "Winter is Coming" says the Starks; "Winter is here" say we.)

The hotel is in an old building, and the company has done all right in having exposed brick and beams, tiled floors, making good use of limiting space. Has a few quirks (elevator No. 3 is past the pool/gym and kind of hidden away...and can be slow when you need to get up to your room fast due to having a couple of beers.) But we thought it attractive and tasteful, as well as interesting.

Great room, quiet, overlooking the pool. Comfortable bed, everything worked. The bathroom fixtures are a little dated, but it is obvious the hotel is busy and making improvements. Breakfast was the standard buffet style (what! no beignets?) and the coffee good. The staff setting up and setting out the breakfast were attentive and friendly.

Front desk was ready for us, and at my daughter's request had delivered a bottle of champagne to the room for our arrival. During our stay, we made good use of the concierge desk to arrange tours and ask questions...very helpful, very knowledgeable, made great suggestions.

The location is just right, a little over a block away from the French Quarter, so a nice walk to Canal Street and cross over to enter at Decatur. I am not a fan of sleeping in the FQ, as the noise, especially on weekends, can be overwhelming. Also, a short ride from the train station.

Price? Based on location, quality, service and comfort, it was just right.

Definitely would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevators. Don't be afraid to ask the concierge for suggestions.

Glad to hear everything went so well with your stay! The best part about birthday vacations is that you can plan one every year - hopefully in the near future one of those brings you back to New Orleans.

This hotel is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the action, but not right in the middle.
Upon arriving, you are greeted by the valet. He makes sure that you have everything OUT of the car that you could possibly need. Good thing, because we about forgot our phone chargers:)
Our next piece of Southern hospitality came from Dennis, the concierge, with Mardi Gras beads!! Loved that touch! ALL the staff were completely professional and super kind! The lobby and room were graciously appointed. The size was perfect for our family of three. The only issues I had with the room were the electrical outlets and the lack of an exhaust fan in the bathroom. The outlets would not hold a plug. The breakfast was great, especially for the amount of people that were in the hotel that weekend.
I can say that this is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever been in. After every guest, they strip the beds completely and take off the mattress and vac/clean the box springs! I have NEVER seen that done in ANY hotel!
The hotel was rather expensive for what you get.

Room Tip: If you want to sleep in, don't get a room over the breakfast area:)

We love the location for both business and fun - Its right in the heart of downtown New Orleans, while still a few steps away from the crowds and noise. You really get the best of both worlds, with all the action but a quiet place to come home to! Glad to hear you had a great stay! Thanks for taking the time to share!

If you love history you will love how this hotel has maintained the old New Orleans look! It takes you back in time. The staff was wonderful and called to see if we needed anything after check in. After the first night we noticed several ants in the master bedroom and maintenance quickly took care of it. The breakfast was great everyday as well.
