In spite of it's fame, I would consider this a convenient diversion but not a destination. The beignets piled with powdered sugar are delicious with a cup of coffee ( coffee is OK not great). It is a great opportunity to take a break in the covered patio and watch the scenic street scene. We had no problem mid-day seating ourselves and being served. Conveniently located near the French Market and away from the Bourbon St. bar scene.
