Looking for something different (and vegetarian) from the fat-saturated fare that is ubiquitous in the USA is not always easy.....there is only so much veggie lasagne you can eat! This restaurant is unpretentious, relaxed and serves generous proportions of tasty and different food. A huge bonus is the fact that it invites you to bring your own beer, so making for a very reasonable price over all. Don't be put off by the poor reviews, maybe it was just a bad day.

If you love tinned food, leftover flood rations then by all means pop long. Instant rice and dehydrated peas and corn, squash and chopped vermachelli noodles which included those same peas and corn, the fried plantain fried in a thick motor oil like substance. Black eyed pea fritters were tasteless, a fried dog turd would have been more nutritious and a geat deal more flavorful.

The food could have been african it could have been chinese, it certainly it was not decent food.

Beef stew with spinach and fufu was good, spicy. Marinated chicken was very very dry, fried plaintains were good, chicken with brown gravy & peanuts wasn't peanutty at all, too goopy, and was bad. Coconut rice had no coconut taste at all, was rice and mixed vegetables.

The waiter is very friendly, has a bit of trouble coping with so many people visiting his restaurant, but all the same he deserves no blame.

The portions are huge. I ordered something veggie, and the flavour is interesting; but the ingredients, well, they are just western veggies from the freezer on a base of rice or couscous. A strong home-cooked meal feel, indeed, but the taste of my home-cooking is better, the ingredients are higher quality, and the feeling afterwards is more rewarding.

I had no idea what to expect when friends wanted to try this place. I ordered a chicken dish with baked chicken, rice, spinach, and a roll. It was tasty and reminded me of home-cooking from my mom. The portions were large, the food was cooked well, and the prices were affordable. If I end up here again, I will be a little more adventurous with my choices.
