A Thanksgiving eve visit to Mr.B's Bistro was excellent, food was outstanding. We highly recommend the Shrimp & Grits and Wood Fire grilled fish, both excellent . Our servers were all very attentive and very hospitable.
Another visit would be in order if our travels bring us to New Orleans soon.

On an uncharacteristically cold and blustery day, our neighborhood bartender friend recommended this gem which was right across the street from our hotel, and it was excellent! We had a yummy and cozy lunch at the bar which featured, at the recommendation of our friend, barbecued shrimp...messy and delicious! Good service and a fun time.

We chose to dine at Mr. B's because it was very close to our hotel, and it had very good ratings. We went without reservations and had to wait about 25 minutes, but that wasn't a problem. We were shown to a table and had to wait quite some time for a waiter to attend to us. I found the menu to be quite pricy, but again that wasn't a problem. The waiter came to bring us bread and practically threw it on the table, causing the lit candle to almost tip over. Our orders were taken, and I ordered the braised rabbit. It came out looking like it had been slopped onto the plate in a prison lunch room. I saw other dishes of it come out that were very nicely presented. The food itself was delicious, but not outstanding in any way. At the end of the meal, the other diners were presented with hot clothes for wiping hands, etc., but we did not get any.
The restaurant decor was not exceptional in any way. It could have been any restaurant in any town, and the tables were very crowded.
I don't know if we were rushed because there were only 2 of us at a table for 4 and they were waiting to seat other people, or if that is typical of the restaurant.
All in all, I didn't feel that the food or the service matched the prices, and I definitely won't be a return customer.

Excellent New Orleans dining, reasonably priced for the area. I tasted the chicken which was very juicy and delicious. I ordered the shrimp gumbo which was delicious and not terribly spicy. The atmosphere is pleasant for a large restaurant, it is conveniently located in the French Quarter. Without a reservation, expect a bit of a wait for a table. Wait staff are pleasant and service is prompt.
