We had reservations here on a Thursday night for a group of 10 girls. They sat us instantly when we arrived (was nice to actually have a table that was reserved for us, unlike many restaurants who will take reservations but then still make your party wait when you arrive).

They were extremely busy but service was very good. Drinks were filled and food came out in a decent amount of time. I ordered the pork chop. It came with greens and mashed sweet potatoes. The pork chop and sweet potatos were done perfect... A lot of flavor in both. The greens were ok.

We did order the garlic fries as an appetizer, which I would not recommend. Nothing fancy at all and I'm sure there is a better appetizer on their menu.

All in all, it was a very nice dinner for a bigger group. A little pricey but perfect for a celebration dinner.

We always go to Mr B's when visiting New Orleans and are always totally satisfied with the food and service. This time we went twice for lunch, love this restaurant. The ambiance is soothing, wonderful lighting and all the wood make for an inviting dining experience. The service is excellent with well trained staff. I also enjoy being able to watch the food preparation in the kitchen, this adds to the dining experience. Their seafood gumbo and gumbo ya ya are both outstanding. We both ordered red fish served with asparagus and baked new potatoes, so good we ordered it both times. Highly recommend Mr. B's.

After a long walk around the French Quarter, we stopped at Mr. B's Bistro for dinner. We waited a short time - about 30 minutes - much less than the 60 minutes we were told it would take to get a table.

This is a nice place: decent ambiance, soft lighting and mercifully, no blaring music. It seemed like most of the clientele were a little older - 60's or so - so we definitely brought the average age down quite a bit. :)
We were served ably by the friendly and helpful Len and Mary Kay and they were really great. We started with the garlic french fries and the crab cake. Definitely order the crab cake. It is perhaps the best crab cake you will ever have. Truly exceptional. unfortunately, there was only one on the plate which surprised me a bit but I have to say that it was probably worth the price. The fries, which were covered or perhaps I should say "garnished" with pecorino cheese and rosemary, with a bulb - yes, a bulb! - of roasted garlic. Really nice. The garlic was not roasted enough and the individual cloves were too hard to squeeze out on to the fries. That would have been amazing!
We both had the BBQ shrimp plate - one of their signature dishes.
It consists of about dozen or so shrimp served in a bbq sauce. They give you a full bib to wear and it's totally needed. You will get messy but you will enjoy it. You need to get right in there and peel the shrimp and even remove the heads. It sounds worse than it is. They will even show you how to peel away. The shrimp are really good. The sauce - just ok, a little too much bottled sauce? nothing to write home about but fine. One minor criticism: the bread they serve is really sub-standard: dry, white flour baguette completely devoid of flavour. Obviously not baked with any oil. Still, overall, definitely recommend Mr. B's Bistro.

Late lunch yesterday, Friday, was terrific. Classic New Orleans. Service slow but sure. Food great. People watching even better. Friday lunch in an old New Orleans favorite is a slow and methodical process, with plenty of drinks, but no other place like it. Two thumbs up. And two hours. Enjoy the time and food.
