Stopped in at Katie's on a busy Saturday evening. We took our orders to go. I had a crab cake and shrimp po boy. Very good flavor combination. Bread was sift. My wife had a roast beef and cheese mufalleta with with Ibbelieve olive salad seasoning. Very large sandwich. She couldn't finish. She wasn't a.fan of the olive salad. I suppose its an acquired taste.

When staying with friends in New Orleans we were looking for a good value, neighborhood gem with good, authentic Louisiana food. Katie's hit the mark! Most memorable dish was the Oysters, covered in garlic and parmesan, before now I've never really understood the hype about Oysters, but I would order those again and again! It was $12 pizza night (Thursdays) and that proved a great way to try Cochon Du Lait. Only complaint was that it was a little noisy, but that usually means everyone's having a good time, which was definitely the case!

We spend a few days in New orleans and Katie's is absolutely the best i've improved. It is a no tourist stand (because is long away from Bourbons street etc.) but you have to go there.

The charbroiled oysters with butter, garlic and lemon. Served with sliced baguette. Simple. Followed by a fried green tomato an shrimp poboy with bottomless bloody Marys. YES!

Well deserved reputation for great food and good value. Try the Cuban, smoked pork sandwich. I loved it. My wife had the catfish and she was quite happy too. It a quaint spot in the middle of a regular neighbourhood. We stayed at the French Quarter RV resort and took a cab as its about a mile or two away. But, we were so stuffed we walked back. Enjoy.
